If you don't know who the Maloof family is, they're the owners of the Sacramento Kings, and they donate VERY heavily to the Democratic Party.

then he ran for congress and lost to Heather Wilson when she was first elected. The green party candidate got 15% of the vote in that election, thus handing it to Wilson.
