1. Rural vs. City
The bigger the precinct, the longer the wait on returns.

14. I would say yes.
Seattle, Tacoma, and Vancouver will be the lion share of votes. I heard Dean took Seattle 2:1, even in Tacoma, and lost Vancouver to Kerry. It should be close Dean/Kerry with DK third.

17. 2:1 for Dean in Seattle, close everywhere else would give it to
Dean.

That Seattle edge would be something like 20,000 to 10,000.

15. Quite so, which is why I find Yahoo!'s Kerry headline pathetic.
They have a headline "Kerry takes demanding lead in WA."

SUCH CRAP, it hasn't even BEGUN yet and Dean seems to be moving forward with the votes, not Kerry.

19. WRONG
The "votes" are state delegates.

22. peace
however, conjecture presented as fact (rural vs city crap and writing results thus far as insignificant), is dishonest and misleading (oh, and probably wrong)

6. The turnout was huge
3-4 times normal. My precinct had to meet in the hall.

3. Because it's a caucus not a primary
Each precinct has between 4-8 delegates or so. For example, my precinct had eight delegates representing 72 people.

12. Those were just the people who were there or who voted in...
absentia with an affadavit. There are lots more people actually *living* in this precinct.

10. They're reporting delegates to the county conventions.
I don't think they even keep track of individual votes. My precinct had 10 people, and we got 2 delegates.

Seattle hasn't been reported yet. There's your discrepancy.

21. They changed it now.
CNN and AP also seem to be on track with each other as far as numbers go. AP was behind CNN it seems.
