of ink in Columbus and Cleveland, because it sure is down here and disturbingly mouthbreathers are buying it.
Page 1 of 35 Next >> I am now campaigning against Blackwell -- what is the integrity of messing around with an expunged record and making statement as absolute with no proof but mere allegations from the Secretary of State at that... --Mark Schmieder, Tri-Coounty, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 6:52:00 PM It's truly sad when Mr. Blackwell has to stoop to such a low level, but it also shows his true character. Anyone, in my opinion, that has the support of one like Bill Cunningham is questionable. --Robert Marki, Mt. Healthy, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 6:26:00 PM Ken Blackwell's allegations demonstrate the predicitable lack of character of a man who has changed his party several times and has run a crooked operation at the statehouse. Ken Blackwell is nothing but a black cloud over the state of Ohio. I am waiting for the chance to happily say good riddance. --Annie Knecht, Madeira, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 6:20:00 PM I'm truly saddened by Mr. Blackwell's actions. He calls himself a Christian? Come on! And the timing of these old and already-dealt-with allegations (see the primary news stories, please, people!)...I'm just simply disgusted. --John Cummings, Kenwood, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 5:45:00 PM Thankfully, this campaign has revealed Blackwell's true character: unethical, desperate, pathetic, and clearly unfit for the job. --Simone, Anderson, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 4:45:00 PM I hope that when I vote, it will count this time! It is time to get a person of integrity and honesty, such as Ted Strictland, to lead our state. --James Kanter, Wyoming, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 2:55:00 PM There are just too many questions about Strickland and his character. I have to Vote for Blackwell. Why would you keep someone convicted of exposing themself to children on staff. Strickland had to have known. Why do you fly to Italy with this man who exposes himself to children? The answer Strickland had to have known!!! Why is your wife living in a different state? She knows the truth the too! Until Ken Blackwell stood up and showed us what he is really made of I was thinking he might not be tough enough to be Governor. Now am sure I will be voting for Blackwell. Question who have those polls been interviewing I they have not talked to me. Blackwell all the way. --J Hopefield, Wyoming, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 2:52:00 PM First, I am no legal expert but is it even possible to get a felony indecent exposure conviction expunged? I would not think so. So this must not have been that serious of offense if it got expunged. And how does Cunningjerk know so much detail about the crime if it was expunged? Seems to me he is just making stuff up. Heck once in grad school I could have been busted for indecent exposure. It was $1 pitchers of Blatz beer night (had no money) and I had my fill. On the way home I stopped to get rid of the beer with my friends. People saw us and next thing I know cops are around. Since it was near a college campus (college kids do the darndest things) they let us go but clearly stated you go of been busted for going in front of people and maybe kids. Wow I have even gone on golf trips out of state with 3 other buddies, no wives. By Blackwells standards I am both a indecent exposure pervert and must be gay because my wife did not go with me on the golf trips. Go figure - this stinks bad --Dennis, Loveland, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 2:51:00 PM Let see, the term "dirt bag" comes to mind ... no, Not Strickland! --Hank Althaus, Anderson Twnshp., Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 2:50:00 PM Ken Blackwell and Bill Cunningham. All I can say is, they deserve each other (and NOT in a gay way, more in a two-losers-nobody-cares-about-anymore kind of way). Don't go away mad, Ken. Just GO AWAY. Take Billy Boy with you. --Smac, College Hill, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 2:48:00 PM
Some of the people in this city are absolutely unbelievable. For these people, if you're gay, somehow this is WORSE than any other possibility!!! Somehow, one's sexuality is the be-all and end-all. Quite franky, I'd much rather have a gay governor (I'm not suggesting that Strickland is) who cares about the average human being, uses his brain, and has ideas to move Ohio forward rather than a straight governor (like Blackwell claims to be even though he doesn't live with his wife either--SCANDALOUS!!!) who is an ignorant, arrogant, inflammatory, pompous, short-sighted brown-nosing moron. Oh, and let's not forget Blackwell's FABULOUS solutions for schools. If you can stomach visiting his website, you can check it out there. If Blackwell gets elected, this state will be ruined and you can bet I'll be moving somewhere else after I graduate from UC. --David Emery, Ross, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 2:44:00 PM Stick a fork in him, he's done. Further proof that Blackwell doesn't have what it takes to lead or win. --Bill, Mt. Adams, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 2:40:00 PM Let me get this straight, Blackwell refuses to disclose his tax returns and yet accuses Strickland of witholding information about an issue that is old news. If there is anybody out there who actually has a more favorable opinion of Ken Blackwell after these ludacrous allegations then may God have mercy on their soul. --Ben, Blue Ash, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 2:40:00 PM Desperate times require desperate measures. I'm just not desperate enough to vote for Blackwell. Can't we have an election that is run on the issues on not innuendos. --Bob, Anderson, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 2:30:00 PM Mr. Clark...you state:If Ted Strickland is gay and takes young convicted pervert boyfriends on foreign trips it smells bad but doesnt surprise me that Strickland would behave that way his history speaks volumes about him. If we can't beat um', call them gay.Tired tactics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! --J.M. Bowman, Columbus, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 2:28:00 PM I think that these types of campaign strategy are disgusting. I wish candidates would make comments that define their stand on our important issues. We little to knoe their political intentions and too much mudslinging. It's also too bad that this seems to work for too many voters. We need voters to be more involved and more informed. Too many don't vote, so you only have to fool a majority of the minority that show uP. Please, learn more about the candidates and get out and vote. Drag others if you must ! --Gary, Camp Dennison, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 2:24:00 PM Mr. Blackwell's tactics are part of the reason so many people in this country are turned off to the political process. Instead of focusing on issues, he is playing on people's fears and prejudices in order to win votes. It sickens me to think of all the time, energy, and money wasted on negative campaigning while real problems remain unresolved. I am ashamed to live in Ohio and be associated with a man like Mr. Blackwell. --Chris Mackey, Anderson, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 2:20:00 PM I'm glad I am not voting in Ohio this year. Is there a "None of the Above" choice? Neither of the gubernatorial candidates are worth the press this is getting. I really feel sorry for Ohio the next four years. --David, Memphis, TN - formerly of Harrison, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 2:17:00 PM I think its wonderful to see so many people speaking against Blackwell and his weak attempt to win back some votes. Maybe instead of trying to slander his opponent he should look at his campaign of hate and intolerance to change the hemorrhage of support. Its clear Ohioans are not ready to support a Govenor that will take away abortion rights, and legislate hate from his office. Thank God for that. Everyone should NOT VOTE FOR Blackwell, because we deserve a chance for Democracy in OHIO! --Dan Maxwell, Hyde Park, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 2:16:00 PM As a member of the Evangelical Right, shouldn't Mr. Blackwell follow Jesus' example? "Let he among us without sin cast the first stone."
Mr. Blackwell is really grasping at straws because he is behind. Why doesn't W bail him out. Blackwell ensured a victory for W in 2004 and wouldn't you think that he would do the return favor? He just lost my vote along with the other Republicans running for office!! --Denise Kelly, Liberty Township, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 2:04:00 PM Politicians MUST STOP THROWING DIRT --Mildred May, Lakeside Park, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 1:47:00 PM " What would Blackwell say about 68% of all convicted child preditors being registered republicans. He can't say anything about it because republicans from the bush mold are terrified of FACTS" --Ken Miller, Fairfield, Wednesday, October 18, 2006 - 1:37:00 PM Miller your a complete idiot and I defy you to back that statement up with one fact. Your a lying sack of crap and you know it.How the brain trust at the Enquirer would even print something so insane is beyond reason. --jcd clark, maineville, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 1:46:00 PM I was leanning towards voting for Blackwell. Now he just lost my vote --John, Clifton, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 1:46:00 PM how could anyone of good conscience vote for a man who switched parties (dem to rep) for in order to further himself, clearly impeded a fair presidential election in ohio in 04, and now is engaged in fraudulent slander in order to give himself a chance, however remote, of stealing yet another election. the fact that this is clearly backfiring on blackwell gives me some hope that we have still have integrity as a people, and as voters of good conscience. --chris, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 1:43:00 PM Blackwell is hateful and desperate. This type of behavior is not only immature but it is a shining example of who he is, contrary to having us all believe he is a man of Christ. Do we really want someone representing the State of Ohio who spends such a great amount of time bashing others instead of focusing on real issues, working to build a better community, and solving problems. My vote is for Ted Strickland. --Janaya Trotter, Loveland, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 1:43:00 PM another Republican Lie??? Do people actually believe that knowing that is is documented FACT that the initial charge was made by a Democrat, Bryan Flannery on Wednesday March 15 2006 as reported by Mark Naymik The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer March 16, 2006 No matter how bad we want out opinions to be correct.. They do not hold up to the facts an as I mentioned earlier.. They really lessen the impact of your argument.. --Danny, Bellbrook, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 1:38:00 PM The person in question's record was EXPUNGED. You can't just walk in and get your record expunged. There are various proceedings one has to go through. Give me a break. The guy didn't do anything. Any Mark Foley comparisons are a joke. Typical right-wing attacks. I'm so happy to see so much Anti-Blackwell sentiment, particularly in Cincinnati... you can only imagine how it is in the more liberal areas of our state! Awesome! --Anne Thompson, Clifton, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 1:34:00 PM hateful? desperate? perhaps diebold, inc. told him to do it? --rob mccolley, urbana, illinois, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 1:30:00 PM
I read the article and was totally offended. The statements had no merit, and appeared to be a way of slandering someone personally. Why would I vote for a person who whould stoop so low. I thoutht Ms. Giovanni's comments were a bit harsh, but enlight of this, I'm reminded of the statement, if the shoe fits, wear it. --Marlene Pittman, College Hill, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 1:29:00 PM since the mainstream media isnt going to talk about Ted Stricklands dirty laundry some one has too. Strickland may claim its no ones business but since hes selling himself as something hes not then yes it is our business. If Ted Strickland is gay and takes young convicted pervert boyfriends on foreign trips it smells bad but doesnt surprise me that Strickland would behave that way his history speaks volumes about him. --jeff clark, maineville, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 1:28:00 PM It is unbelievable the depths the Rupublicans will sink to when they are not tracking well in the polls. This issue is irrevelant to the election and to the suitability of the candidate. We do not need another election where substandard candidates are elected as a result of lies and innuendo. This country is living the results of that with the war in Iraq! --Jim Brodzinski, Symmes Township, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 1:27:00 PM Gotta love the Enquirer story today. "The Blackwell campaign continues to spread false statements." That seems pretty definitive, doesn't it? And how does the Enquirer know these statements are false? Because Ted Strickland told them so! Now that's some fine journalism--exactly the sort we've come to expect from the Enquirer. --Tim Jones, West Chester, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 1:26:00 PM Sorry folks, but this is a plain and simple issue: I've been a Republican since the Reagan days. But, I've been holding my nose since 2000 because all I see are politicians parading around as if God is on their side, driving up huge deficits, getting us in this stupid war in Iraq and doing nothing for middle class families in America. Blackwell is just the latest in a line of sleezy pols who will do anything to get elected. It pains me to say it, but what have Republicans given us the past few years? Homosexual scandals, an unwinnable war, a lousy economy - unless you're really rich - and a lot of chest beating about how religious these folks are. Give me a break! I'm going back to the Dems. --Brent Miller, West Chester, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 1:24:00 PM I was very disappointed in Blackwell that he must stoop to this level. If the allegations are true the public needs to know the truth. That made my decision to NOT VOTE FOR BLACKWELl --Frances Brock, West Chester Oh 45069, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 1:11:00 PM Another Republican Swift boat lie, this is their mode of operation it goes back to 1980 and the Iranian hostages. The same old tired attacks. --Larry R Cutting, Former Columbus Resident, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 1:06:00 PM To Richard Carpenter. The "conviction" was expunged. Please go read what that means if you don't already know. Secondly, read the story you are choosing to comment upon. And by the way, what does his wife living separately from him mean...or that he took a vacation with an aide? Blackwell implies that he may be gay, and he isn't qualified to be the governor, while Mr. Blackwell is? Mr. Blackwell is speaking with integrity? Attacking someone personally when in an election is Integrity, right? I need to become a Republican so I can get some of that Kool-Aid too, it must be nice to ignore everything negative about your own candidate while focusing on allegations against the opposing candidate. How do I become a Republican, and once so, how long until I get some of that Kool-Aid you and your friends drink? --Nick, Downtown, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 12:58:00 PM This kind of thing is done constantly by democrats so why not take a page out of their play book? --Karen Berter, Green Township, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 12:57:00 PM
Dennis O'Connor, Park Hills.. Sir, I am not on Blackwell's payroll. Nice try with the personal attack though. I am much too advanced to stoop to such low tactics.. Now back to the topic. Dennis O'Conner, Please help me in understanding, are you denying that the arrest had happened? I had posted a webpage that states such. Do you deny the articles posted in Dayton Daily news (march 17 2006), The Plain Dealer (march 16 2006)? Should I go on? Should not questionable conduct and the knowledge be brought up for discussion? When anyone makes ignorant remarks, they lessen their argument. It is out Right to Vote.. It is our Duty to be Informed. Please do not fall short of this, sir. --Danny, Bellbrook, Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 12:55:00 PM
