Are there any decent (paper trailed) Diebold machines? |
|
My county (King County, WA) has just switched from optical scanners to a Diebold system.
Global Accuvote Diebold Election Systems DRE/AccuVote TSX
Does anyone know anything about this system? Is there a paper trail?
Most of Washington appears to be mail-in balloting now, but not King County -- the most liberal part of the state. We're stuck with Diebold.

1. Computer voting systems are an inherently stupid idea. |
|
Web voting has some possibilities; but paper is still the best technology for reading and for voting.

2. All of Diebold's Bank Machines |
|
have a paper trail, and are working 24/7 so the do a great deal more than an election machine.
If they can make a machine give out paper for records which are far more complex than a simple election result or paper trail there is no reason they can't make it for their election machines....
or is there a reason?
buggers.
