People must accept responsibility for their votes

It's easy to blame the Congress, or the Senate, or the President for all the problems now confronting our nation. However, nobody blames the voters? Why is that?

If not for the voters, we would not have these humongous deficits and debt. If not for the voters, we would not have the disastrous war in Iraq. If not for the voters, we probably would not have had the events of 9/11. Isn't it time for the voters to accept some responsibility for the mess we find ourselves in?

1. it's funny how Republicans use this argument before election time

they tell voters that if they vote Democratic and Dems win and we have another terrorist attack or any other problem it will be the fault of those who voted for Democrats.

but the fact that Republicans have been winning in many of the previous elections and have been in control and we have had all of these problems under them seems lost on them and the voters who fall for that shit.

2. Would this be an effective argument for Democrats?

Paint a picture for the voters. Tell them exactly what to expect if they vote Republican?

4. well, these things have ALREADY happened under Republicans

many Democrats are already saying it. the problem is partly the media which doesn't report on it.

but Republicans are more evil in the way they do it. they directly tell voters that they will be to blame if they vote for Democrats and another terrorist attack occurs. while Democrats just tell the truth and say under Republicans we have had all of these problems.

i'm not sure how it would play if Democrats started to tell voters they will be to blame. i can't see Democrats doing it either.

2004. President Kerry (will the Empire EVER have a Democratic Emperor again?)

Of course the Imperial Subjects of Amerika bear some responsibility for the chains we now wear. But how much is the question.

How've you been, tom_paine? I'm trying to not get so caught up in this propaganda and negativity that does not help the Democrats. We need to be more rational at this time, in my opinion. However, it is understandable that we would wish to get in the gutter with the Republicans. However, we should remember that the Repubs are very comfortable in the gutter.

politicians lie (read my lips). Then the responsibility lies with the politicians. Then voters (and other politicians) must hold them accountable!
