Poll question: 08 Without Clark and Gore Poll
Recent DU polls indicate strong support here for Clark and Gore. They win DU polls and as I recall Clark was on top. But what if they both decide not to run... Who would you favor?

3. The point is - as with all these polls - nothing.
I voted for Edwards anyway.

6. Obama.
He's every bit as qualified as Edwards, and he was right about Iraq, demonstrating better judgement then the other ones listed.

8. I suppose if you had a poll between Hillary and Attila the Hun
Hillary just might win in DU, by a squeaker!

9. I think DUers would like Sebelius if they knew more about her
Edited on Mon Nov-20-06 09:29 PM by sonroadera
I like this poll, not because the choices are great, but we know that Gore and Clark dominate everything. It is interesting to how much better Obama does in this kind of poll.

14. Heh. You go boyfriend
Geez, kinda like the primaries of 2003, when I first looked at this poll, Kerry didn't have a chance, but suddenly he's pulling ahead. Interesting

15. Where did all the Kerry votes come from?

On edit, that wasn't meant to be an insult just he was behind significantly ever since I posted this.

17. He was always behind Gore and Clark, but regularly third or fourth.
So, it is not very surprising.

18. My guess would be from people who quietly believe that corruption matters.
And don't want to see another Clinton in place to cover up for another Bush.

19. What I'm wondering is
why so many votes for the centrists?

I can't say for Sebelius, but isn't every one else listed pretty far to the right of Kerry?

Kerry seems to be the only choice for a liberal. And this is the first I've seen Sebelius even mentioned for 2008 - is she a likely candidate at all?

20. Kerry considered Sebelius for VP in 2004
She a popular governor of a seriously red state, and was just easily re-elected. Check out my link below more info.

We have had 2 senators elected President in the last 100 years or so, and neither defeated an incumbent president. But look how many recent governors defeated sitting presidents: Carter, Reagan, Clinton. Senators are just so much easier to slime.

I haven't seen any evidence that she will run, but the more non-senators from flippable red states we have seeking the nomination, the better.

16. Without Gore or Clark, I think I'd have to go with Edwards for the top of the ticket.
Forget Hillary or Obama.

23. How is this a push poll?
You see polls all the time that don't include certain candidates. This poll just excludes the most popular two.
