Some Dumb Questions About A Possible Iraq Pullout.......
1. What happens to all those permanent bases we were building?
2. What happens to the Green Zone and the biggest/securest embassy we were building?
3. What happens to Chalabi? By the way - where is he and who is protecting him?
4. What happens to the oil?
5. What happens to Saddam? As far as I know his case is in appeal. If we pullout is it possible that he would get off?
6. What about all that money we spent and misplaced there?
7. What about all the ammunitions and weapons cache's - will we destroy them first or just leave them?
8. Will all our military that have lost their lives there have lost their lives in vain?
9. What about *'s legacy?
10. Will the Hague be busy after the pullout?
11. Where will *'s library be built?
12. Will the *'s twins live a good life after he's gone?

I'm sure I can think up many additional questions - but these seem to be the most pressing.

2. RE: # 8, answer is and has from the get-go been YES!
Most of your questions are quite valid, but #8 is "dumb", to use your term. When a superpower, without any legitimate justification, invades a basically impoverished and minimally defended third world country (or even a well-defended, "first world" country), all the superpower's military who die have lost their lives in vain. Vain is a good descriptive term - in Iraq people on both sides are dying because of the Bush administration's vanity, hubris, racism & greed.

6. Answers
1. What happens to all those permanent bases we were building?

Whatever buildings there are at our bases would likely be abandoned or left to the Iraqi army, such as it is.

2. What happens to the Green Zone and the biggest/securest embassy we were building?

Abandoned, again to the Iraqi army.

3. What happens to Chalabi? By the way - where is he and who is protecting him?

No idea where he is, but last time I heard he was getting buddy buddy with Moqtada al-Sadr, so that's probably where you'll find him.

4. What happens to the oil?

Free-for-all. It depends on what kind of social structure would show up after we left.

5. What happens to Saddam? As far as I know his case is in appeal. If we pullout is it possible that he would get off?

Actually, I don't think that there is an appeal process. Though I suspect he would be executed before any possible withdrawl.

6. What about all that money we spent and misplaced there?

Gone.

7. What about all the ammunitions and weapons cache's - will we destroy them first or just leave them?

They would be hauled out with us.

8. Will all our military that have lost their lives there have lost their lives in vain?

Yes.

9. What about *'s legacy?

Other than a failed war?

10. Will the Hague be busy after the pullout?

No.

11. Where will *'s library be built?

I think they have a site in Houston planned.

12. Will the *'s twins live a good life after he's gone?

Of course.
