Poll question: If your candidate is unfairly attacked...
Edited on Fri Dec-26-03 08:02 PM by eileen_d
as a candidate supporter, what do you think is the best response?

("Unfair attacks" of course are a subjective phenomenon -- but that's not the issue I'm interested in, really, so wallow in your own subjectivity!)

Edit: OK, it's a subjective poll, now that I re-read it. Poop!

1. And...
Depending on how stoopid the attack is, add the poster to my ignore list.

6. I agree
I just cleared out my ignore list because I was too curious about what some of my fellow DUers were up to. After a while, it just comes down to "Am I going to get mad at this, or am I just going to laugh it off?"

Even so, some folks still are capable of lighting a fire under my ass... ;)

7. True, too.
I'll admit that there are a couple of posters who can get my blood pressure in the stratosphere--- no names, of course. ;)

12. Now *that* is right on the mark!
:) I think my level of tiredness/frustration definitely influences the response I choose at any given time.

Perhaps there's a formula for this. To The Calculators!

13. I tend to use the ignore button a lot.
Keeps stuff readable for me, and keeps me much more positive about supporters of others candidates, as I only see the reasonable ones.

15. I vote #2 with an IF
I will address the issue if the attack is a relatively new one that I think should be countered. Lately when attacks have already been recycled 5 or 10 times, I either ignore them, or point out the way in which such attacks are self defeating to all of us, or call them flame bait and move on.

Sometimes I throw out a zinger, I admit, but I make sure I am on very firm ground before doing so, or that my zinger at least opens up a valid new way of looking at the situation.

17. Combination Of All. But You Forgot "Hit Ignore" and "Use Hide Feature"
:)

Unfair attacks are, IMO, gratutious and not based on any issue, statement or action of said candidate.

19. Explaining doesn't work
when others aren't listening. I explain, it goes no where. I fight back by attacking and have been deleted. What to do? Guess I'll try ignore.

20. alls fair in love and war
moaning about "unfair" does nothing to move the cause.

If you think anything unfair is occurring on these pages, just wait till the right gets cranked up. you aint seen nothin yet
