First, let me say that I love "The Daily Show" and I love Jon Stewart. I would never say anything bad about either.
But I was disappointed last night when I watched the Daily Show and they mentioned the "top" candidates -- Kerry and Edwards. Then, the went into Dean a little bit, but acted as if General Clark didn't even exist. Now, admittedly, they were making fun of all three candidates, but still... what's the deal? Why is Jon ignoring Wes? Based on what I know of both of them, their beliefs line up pretty well.
Also, I have to get this off my chest... it has nothing to do with TDS or Jon Stewart, but I was watching that whore Wolf Blitzer yesterday (don't ask why) and he talked about Kerry and Edwards, and then actually showed a clip of General Clark in Tennessee! I was excited, because they were actually showing Clark giving one of his speeches. He was doing the line from his stump speech that goes like this:
"Senator Edwards is an attorney, a great attorney, and a good man. And Senator Kerry is a phenomenal legislator, a great legislator. So you've got a great lawyer, a great legislator, and then there's me..."
Now, many of you probably can finish that thought for General Clark. The ending basically goes, "And then there's me... I'm a leader. If you want a lawyer, vote for a lawyer. If you want a legislator, vote for a legislator. But if you want a leader, vote for me."
The point is, though, that Wolf DIDN'T let him finish. They stopped the clip at "and then there's me...". So basically you have Wes Clark saying very nice things about Edwards and Kerry, and then ending it at "then there's me." Let's just say I was glad Blitzer wasn't in my living room, or I would have blitzed him in the worst way.
