A request for help from some capable DU member re: Carter's Ford eulogy tomorrow ...
We both have to be out tomorrow and I so want to hear Jimmy Carter's eulogy for Ford. Knowing President Carter, and knowing now what Ford said about the state of the government and the waywardness of his former protegees, I'm expecting it to be noteworthy. Does anyone plan to tape it or know how to get it on Youtube?

I'd be in your debt if you could pint me to it tomorrow night.

Thanks in advance.

1. C-Span? Streaming?
I haven't been paying that much attention to the funeral - but your post has me thinking - are the BFEE speakers going to be there also or is it limited to those personally invited by the family? I'd love to hear that Carter was invited and some others were not. Wishful thinking?

3. Carter is the only one speaking ......
.... the only former president, that is. He was personally invited by Ford to speak. The two men made a pact that each would be the final eulogizer of the other depending on who died first.

Carter flew to Grand Rapids with the Ford family. The rest of the political world, for the most part, stayed in DC, uninvited to the final farewell.

Does C-Span archive things like this?

7. Yes, they play it at least two additional times so you can tape

later also. They will probably show it many times in the weeks to come if Bryan Lamb is around - he's a history lover and is dedicated to this aspect of archiving and replaying. But, when things are back in session at the House and Senate, the time is eaten up with replays of hearings and press conferences.

It is also archived for the internet. I'm not sure how long it takes to get up there.

You can check with them to make sure they will be in MI - I would bet that they are there already.

8. I was very nice and didn't say anything about C-Span eating up
time taping live from all the Heritage FOundation and AEI and replaying them, but I can't resist - C-Span never seems to miss covering them. What a pact they have.
