Marriage equality ban in Massachusetts advances. |
The Senate voted for it, voted to reconsider, and then voted to uphold it. It advances to the next session of the legislature and gets a lot closer to getting on the 2008 ballot. We gotta do everything we can to stop this.

1. The honorable Deval Patrick will be Governor in 2 days. |
Will he have any control over what happens?

2. It's all up to the State Senate and House. |
Though he is against it and essentially told the members of the legislature to adjourn. I wish they'd all have just not shown up to kill it. But no, in short I don't believe he has any power here.

3. Dammit. He certainly wouldn't stand by and let that kind of injustice |
take place. What a shame.

4. Hurry before all the heteros turn gay!!!!!! |
That law has just made it easier for heteros in stable marriages to possibly question their sexual preferences and maybe wanna break up and "go gay".
The legislature sure better hurry! Oh my God! Another day passes and another hetero might just go to the "other side"! Protect marriage! Protect heterosexuality! Protect America!

5. What if the voters overwhelming allow it to stand? |
Wouldn't that be a good thing? As long as it is by legislative fiat the opponents will always play the "let the people choose" card. I'm willing to bet that the good people of Massachusetts will vote to confer the right of marriage to all of their citizens.
