On the occasion of my 1000th post, may I ask one thing of the
new Congress. Please, on behalf of all of us, live up to your promises. Each of you fight this administration with every fiber of your being. We are in such dangerous times and we have a maniac at the helm of our ship of state. I fear for my country, for my family, for everyone. With each day, I become more upset by events here and abroad. At 65 years old, I have seen a lot but nothing compares with the arrogance and underhandedness of this administration. I hold our new Congress to their promises of change. We cannot as a country, continue our current path. The world and the American people expect more from us. You, the new Congress, have it within your means to correct things and try your best to right this ship. Please do not back down, please do not settle. Change our situation before it is too late. This is America, this is a Democracy. Return it to us.

4. Incredible, isn't it, the new lows our elected leaders have sunk to?
I'm of your generation and I really never thought we would sink to the lows of Nixon ever again, but then we got twelve years of Reagan/Bush and I never thought anyone would vote Republican again after them. But this Bush administration beats them all for criminality. One good thing that has come from this dark period in our history though is now we know they were rigging elections. It makes me feel better to know that the majority of Americans are not kool-aid drinking racists after all. I hope election reform is one of the items that is high on the list of this new Congress.
