3. This is at the request of Saudi Arabia, of course. They do NOT want the US 'dealing'
with the Shi'a government of Iran, the Guardian Council, or the Supreme Leader, in any way, shape, or form. Likely they told Cheney to "prove your love to us" and this is how we are doing it.

Here's the context: http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/12/13/saudi.sunnis/index.html

Story Highlights

• AP says White House rejects report on Saudi plan to act in Iraq if U.S. leaves
• Source says Saudi king "read riot act" to Vice President Dick Cheney about Iraq
• Saudi Arabia would support Sunnis in Iraq if the U.S. pulls out, the source says
• King Abdullah also is said to oppose talks between the U.S. and Iran

4. Maybe it isn't crazy
If his real plan is to attack Iran, it would make perfect sense. Or, if he knows Israel is planning to attack Iran, and we are going to back up Israel, it would make sense.

The neo cons have been very focused and nervy from the beginning. I don't think they are going to let public opinion or a democratic controlled congress get in their way. They don't have much to lose at this point.

7. absolutely right...
see Juancole.com for an insightful article there about just that. It's chilling to think what our leaders are capable of. Ironically, they are as patient as they claimed "Al Queda" is/was. The neocons never really give up, and the thing is..if the bottom line is money(war profiteering), you have to wonder, my God, how much is enough? Jeez, do you really live better on 2 billion than you did on 700 million or something? ...God help us all!

11. Bush to use Iran for diversion of Iraq mess - half the Navy is almost over there or
on its way so Bush can further demonstrate his "new way forward" --

Prediction, claim that one of our planes got shot down over Iran doing surveillance, Bush will claim they started it and the US. will be in worse shape as this mad-man in the white house goes further out of his mind with war.
