5. Note to the tweetster, it's been how many hours?
Unlike his ability to spout utter nonsense, sensible politicians have to take time.

Barney Frank last night.

Maybe it will help understand - what a blithering idiot.

8. What a difference a Congress makes.
I don't recall Tweety being so impatient with ending the war in the last Congress. For a guy who was a real cheerleader for getting us into it, he sure is cutting the Democrats no slack in getting us out. Of course, if the Democrats did drive an immediate and unilateral withdrawal, I suspect Chris would change his tune, yet again.

10. Untrue
I'm no fan of Matthews, but he was one of the few talking heads to call bullshit on this war before it happened and has consistently questioned it all the way through. That point is sometimes lost in his never ending attempt to kiss as much Washington ass as possible, but to say he was a "cheerleader" for this war is totally inaccurate.

when smirk pranced on the Lincoln, Tweety sounded positively orgasmic, talking about what a he-man Chimpy was for "winning the war"

27. True, we all know about his man-love for Dubya's codpiece
But he has never been a supporter of this war. That's a simple fact. He's blown Bush, to be sure. But he's always questioned the rationale for this war. Look, it pains me to say it, cuz I loathe Matthews. But he got it right on Iraq. I find it interesting that both critiques to my post referenced the codpiece episode. Despite that televised bit of homo-eroticism, have you ever actually seen/heard Matthews say Bush was right on Iraq? Cuz if you have, I'd love to see the link.

He also knows that the Democrats RAN ON IT! How hard is it to schedule a vote to de-fund this travesty?

Anyone have an answer? This should have been the first thing on the 100 hour agenda.

24. This was the agenda America voted for
It was what Democrats promised to do in the first 100 hours, to make effective changes for the most people possible. Iraq was never going to be something that could be solved in ten minutes, and cutting funding won't solve it in ten minutes either. People DID NOT vote for an instant withdrawal that would throw the entire region into chaos and war.

13. Just because she is a woman???
For 230 years they have followed this very same procedure when members of the house and senate were sworn in. Because she is a woman AND a democrat are they supposed to forgo a traditional and required procedure just to please him. I admit it is a lot of pomp and circumstance but that's what they do in this case. And just because she is a woman does she deserve less. There are a lot of men out there who are upset when a woman gets a position of power. America is way behind the times. They are so unprogressive. Look at all the foreign countries that have elected woman to be leaders and their countries are none the less worst off. In fact, I think Israel was at it's height with Golda Meire.

BESIDES - those leaders didn't usually return to Washington formally until around the 20th of the month? Pelosi said she was starting the Session early.

Tweety is a juvenile - we just have to treat him like one.

25. I just saw it. He went temporarily insane.
What in the hell was he thinking? The Democrats earned their 1 f'n day of swearing in ceremonies and celebration and speeches. And it's not as though they have a choice, they legally had to do everything they did today!

Idiot.

Thank God for Keith Olbermann or I'd never watch MSNBC.

26. Whatever Democrats do, it will never be enough, in the timing, and how
Matthews would "like". But if the Republicans are fucking up, he makes sure to give them the benefit of the doubt. He just keeps moving the goal post....thinking the more that he scrambles everything, the larger is confused audience will get.

It's all schtick for his own benefit. He's someone that I would most likely slap before walking away if we were to ever have a conversation.
