1. His opponent will certainly have a soundbite
"Vote for me, or vote for an incumbent who opposes ethics. Your choice."

5. "The only person in the House to vote against Ethics reform"
Really, this guy must be number than a pounded thumb. Either that or he doesn't give a shit because it is his last term.

2. I would have to know WHY
he voted against it. Maybe he thought it didn't go far enough? I dunno. Do you know why he voted no?

3. Other than that he is a corrupt, right-wing congressman from
Indiana, I have no idea.

7. bwahahaha Burton ?
scuttle around Indy (state capitol) was that the lady lobbyists were always in danger of groping hands when going to meet with him. Long time rep as a sleezebag. Gasbag that appeals to the redmeat limbaugh lovers north of the city, but still a sleezebag. I can not fathom that his reason was that it didn't go 'far enough'. Remember this is the guy who chaired the committee that ran a gazillion hearings against Clinton - dude went so far to "prove" that Vince Foster was shot and not a suicide he shot up a watermelon in front of tv cameras. Forget which stunt went to far and the blame got put on his top aide who was quickly fired.

8. well - while all that is *probably* true
- I tend to like to know why people do the things they do. I don't like the automatic response method of judging/thinking.

10. Dude.
It was a pumpkin. He shot a pumpkin. And if it wasn't for that pumpkin, we'd never know that Hillary Clinton really killed Vince Foster.

9. Dan Burton is my idol!
He speaks to my most personal issues:

1) Seniors receive too much medical treatment.
2) You can get AIDs from salad bars in restaurants.

and if he (finally) gets around to it,

3) Finding the murder weapon Hillary used on Vince Foster.

11. Dan Burton: Endless hearings on Gore's ethics right up to election day 2000...
... but he votes against this.

Saith Dan: "Dost thou not suspect my place? Dost thou not suspect my years? O that he were here to write me down an ass. But masters, remember that I am an ass: though it be not written down, yet forget not that I am an ass."
