Lincoln, Roosevelt, Truman...mc cain???
senator john mc cain's run for the white house is off and running.
Apparently, he has decided to mold his image as the successor to 3 of Americas greater Presidents.

from the article:
Interjecting, McCain said, "Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Harry Truman — many other presidents have taken unpopular positions for the good of the nation."

on note: Needless to say, Waylon Smithers...I mean joe LIEberman was with mc cain at the "Let's get thousands more American servicemen and Iraqi civilians butchered tour."

1. Yes, Lincoln, Roosevelt and Truman took unpopular position for the good
of the nation.

Sadly, McCain has made all of his unpopular decisions for the good of John McCain... And the results have not been good for the nation.

2. McCain used to stand against torture - now he wants to be president.
He has no credibility. It's that simple.

5. You're related to Lincoln? How so?
I know that his direct line is extinct.

4. As a history buff originally from Kansas City I keep wondering why
The repukes keep trying to compare themselves to Truman? Old Harry would be royally pissed off by this as he was a die hard dem who hadn't much use for repukes.
My hero, FDR, was a political master who loved pulling it over on repukes. He came from a family who were always democrats. It was the other branch of roosevelts who were repukes.
I want to scream at these idiots to find thier own heros and leave the dem's alone. They are not for sale to the republican party.
And, living now in Illinois, I know Abe would have been a democrat today. He was not approving of bigotry or small mindedness. he would disown his republican party today.
