Who else is sick of the term "Surge"? When are our Dem leaders..
Edited on Sun Jan-07-07 10:23 AM by Rebellious Republica
going to start calling it what it is. "Escalate" should be used be any Dem politician in any interview in or on any form of media. Calling it a surge is just giving the GOP a free pass, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig!

13. The mindless sheep also believe we found WMD in Iraq.
Ignorance is ignorance, and we cannot change that. The people who think "surge" means something warm and fuzzy are out of touch, and we cannot reach them. Bush could call his program "Operation Iraqi Genocide", and some fraction of the voting public would support it.

21. Thats because the GOP and MSM framed the debate, we now have
Edited on Sun Jan-07-07 11:14 AM by Rebellious Republica
the reins on this runaway horse called America. I guess winning the majority was a fluke, or maybe people have tuned out the MSM. They still need to sell commercials and we have control, the MSM no longer needs to fear reprisals from the Bush Admin. Nothing sells commercials like good drama, and the sheep love good drama, so lets give everybody what they want. Donthca think?

Then again we can just lay down and play dead.:eyes:

3. Me too. Mindless parroting of more gov't doubletalk...
... not only by the mindless MSM but also by our elected DEMS.

It's "escalation"; as in the

"Lyndon Johnson told the nation, have no fear of..." variety.

5. Absolutely correct. Escalation it is! And it is way past time that the
Dems stop repeating the Repugs nonsensical slogans. For the last 6 years they have let the Repugs frame the debate and now is a good as time as any to stop.

15. Escalation was the term used in Viet Nam--hence this administration's reluctance
to use it.

And exactly why our leaders should be using it exclusively.

16. Exactly.
I'm a relic from the 60's and everyone from the 'Nam era knows that "surge" means escalation. EVERY Democrat starting with Pelosi & Reid should make a point and set an example by using the term escalation and not play into the bullshit euphemisms and lies that we have been forcefed by Bush, the neocons, and their parroting toadies in the media for the past 6 years.
