Howard Dean to Visit Kentucky
Gov. Howard Dean, Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, will be in Kentucky Wednesday, Jan. 10, to visit with Kentucky Democratic Party Chairman Jerry Lundergan. Lundergan said that he and Dean are meeting to discuss the continuing reorganization and rebuilding of the Democratic Party.

Democratic members of the Kentucky House of Representatives will be honored Tuesday evening with a reception at Wendell H. Ford State Democratic Headquarters, Frankfort. Wednesday morning, the legislators will again gather for a breakfast and planning and strategy meeting.

3. He totally gives credit to the grassrroots and activists..video
He also gets a sly dig in about who won. Very politely done. He is planning on continuing this strategy, building on the successes of this election. He has held his tongue admirably, so this was very mild.

Here's the video I posted:

http://journals.democraticunderground.com/madfloridian/899

""Nine out of the 35 races that were selected by the DCCC were winners...the rest of them were all folks who started on their own with enormous grassroots organizations."

(Key word here is selected. Most started out on their own with grassroots groups and DCCC and DNC helped fund some eventually. I had to listen a couple of times to get what he was saying.)

That is truly amazing, really. The majority ran because they were inspired and wanted to change the country.

He mentioned that some never got much help from either the DCCC or the DNC but won anyway. He named as examples Carol Shea-Porter, Jerry McNerney, and John Hall. He said it was all the netroots, people knocking on doors, people going out and talking to their neighbors.

He said "you can't win without television, but you can't win if you just do television. Reconnecting human beings to each other is the new politics in America, and you're doing it."

The biggest arguments with Rahm and his buds were about funding television ads near the end versus funding get out the vote efforts and radio ads on various stations in vital areas. There was a great article about this soon after the election.

How the Dems won
