Now it seems to me if I were *Co - I would take Kennedy's words and turn them around on him and the Dems.

I applaud Kennedy for speaking out on this issue and putting forth a plan and direction. I'm just questioning the timing.

His speech to the Press Club was wonderful. He hit all the right notes as to what people here on DU have been saying.

I noticed Tweety in the audience. I can't wait to watch his show today to get his take on this.

BTW - Kennedy got a standing ovation.

I would bet Kennedy considered this before making his speech.

No doubt there is a reason for the timing. Perhaps it was done intentionally prior to *'s speech in order to have an effect on the speech itself.

Kennedy did a forceful thing by framing the debate on escalation. Bush couldn't possible spin Kennedys word's he's not that intelligent. Kennedy primed the people for no escalation. Bush will be sandwiched by the Dem rebuttle tonight he will come off as an idiot. Plus Kennedy threw in healthcare.

5. Kennedy said they can't wait and must pre-empt Bush because he will

have the troops in there before Congress has a chance to act and that must not happen. If Congress waits to cut off funds and Bush sends the troops then the Dems will be accused of "not funding the troops."

He's doing it now to get the Bill on the floor right after Bush's speech if Bush doesn't BACK OFF his Escalation.

That's why he did it early.

11. Senator Kennedy was already scheduled to speak on health care. He said

he would speak on that topic at a later date because he changed the topic for today. The Senator knew exactly what he was doing.

I don't feel that anything should revolve on the insanity of Shrub and whatever he has to say on any subject.
