Want Wes Clark to Run for $20.08? Prove it!
I know you're out here. You know you're out here.
Now is the time to show General Clark that we are all of us out here.

And we are ready!

Get on the phone. Get on your email.
Reach out to everyone that you possibly can.

Contribute $20.08 to ActBlue's Wes Clark for President Fund

http://www.actblue.com/entity/fundraisers/12501

In 2004 they told Howard Dean that it couldn't be done.
In 2006, Howard Dean took that campaign to all 50 of our United States.
Now, because of thousands of volunteers around the country and small contributions from all of us,
the 110th Democratic Congress is taking that campaign to Washington DC on our behalf.

Now it's time to do the same for General Clark.

In 2008, We can get our country back.

And we will

"We live in a liberal democracy! That's what we created in this country. It's in our constitution! We should be very clear on this... this country was founded on the principles of the Enlightenment. It was the idea that people could talk, have reasonable dialogue and discuss the issues. It wasn't founded on the idea that someone would get struck by a divine inspiration and know everything, right from wrong. People who founded this country had religion, they had strong beliefs, but they believed in reason, and dialogue, and civil discourse. We can't lose that in this country. We've got to get it back."

Thanks Plant!

It is my democracy just as much as the next person or more importantly much more than it belonging to the media.

4. Such pettyness is not unremarkable, considering......

Have the words "and we will" copyrighted......why dontcha? :eyes:

Anything else that should not be "taken over" that belongs exclusively to Chairman of the DNC, Gov. Howard Dean, for "Old times Sake"? The Internet, maybe? Or does that belong solely to Al Gore?

(edited to correct word copyrighted--correct spelling "stolen" from madFloridian, Natch! :) )

9. I only questioned 3 words...
"and we will."

That was all I questioned.

11. There's 210,000,000 hits on those 3 words as you have written them.....
so if I were you, I'd choose to be indignant about the use of "Take our country back" more so than "and we will".....

Guess Plant didn't realize some's sensitivity of using those three words, in paticular considering that the 2003-2004 primaries are long gone and Howard Dean is working for all Dems.

Maybe someone should tell Gov. Dean that one of his staunch and loyal supporters is going around asking that those three words not be used.....giving the reason that it is for "old times sake". Wonder if he will find it as ridiculous as I do? Considering that he is a very sensible and rational man, I'm certain that he would most likely find it so. I can just imagine him cracking up about the whole silly issue that you even bothered to come into this thread to raise.

18. Sometimes I really don't understand why you feel the way you do.
A while back when all these different Democrats were worried about something that Howard Dean had said they started saying, "Dean doesn't speak for me." They were planning to run in 2008 and they were trying to distance themselves. As I remember, General Clark's statement was, "I am proud of Howard Dean. He is a fighter".

When Dean made one of his first forays down into red state Arkansas, which is actually kind of blueish now, but still conservative; Wes Clark stood up and proudly introduced him at the Jefferson Jackson day dinner. I think the two Democratic Senators were no where to be seen.

I really like Howard Dean, Just as General Clark has stated many times, so I'm confused about why you keep making these little digs at General Clark? Or is it Clark supporters? I don't know what to think.

By the way, I really like the fact that you keep everyone updated on Howard Dean, and I really get angry myself when I read about his detractors. I should also say that the Clark people and the Dean people work very well together here in North Carolina.

10. Just sent in my 20.08
I heard loud and clear from Wes Clark the other day,
No Surge
I didn't hear anything from Sen. Clinton
I didn't hear anything from Sen. Obama
But I heard plain every day common sense from Wes Clark:

No Surge

and he's a doer, he's always around doing positive things not waiting for the
spotlight to shine on him, I like that.

14. Donations go to DNC if Clark doesn't run....
Shouldn't there be a disclaimer in the OP ?

I'm sure Clark will run, but I still think there should be a disclaimer for any "draft" donations.

15. from ACTBlue's FAQ

Presidential Draft Funds make it possible for you to contribute to and fundraise for a Prospective Candidate before the individual has formally declared for office and registered a presidential campaign committee with the Federal Election Commission. Contributions to Draft Funds are held in escrow and transferred to the presidential campaign committee of the Prospective Candidate as soon as it is registered. In the event that a Prospective Candidate does not register a presidential campaign committee by one week before the Democratic National Convention, the funds go to the Democratic National Committee. For the purposes of contribution limits, a contribution to one of these funds counts just like any other individual contribution to the Prospective Candidate or the DNC.

We created these funds after the FEC's November 9, 2006, decision permitting fundraising for prospective candidates in response to our request. For details, see FEC Advisory Opinion 2006-30.

In the event Wes doesn't run the funds would still go to DNC to help Democrats get elected so it's all good.

19. I know a lot of DUers support General Clark....
..but do they support the DNC also? You need to be clear in your OP's that this isn't refundable money.

Thanks :hi:

17. It's called hope!
And I have a lot of it. Certainly Hope doesn't make anything come true nor does it solve a damn thing, but it helps while one is waiting to find out what will be! :)
