Sen. Brown of Ohio loses bet - required to do 55 push-ups

Ohio Senator down for the count -- 55 times -- after team's loss

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. Sherrod Brown proved he could survive a grueling Senate campaign last fall, but now the freshman Ohio Democrat must perform something perhaps even more exhausting -- 55 push-ups.

Brown plans to honor a bet Tuesday made with Florida Sen. Bill Nelson, in which the two agreed that the senator from the losing state in last night's BCS championship football game would complete the number of pushups that equals the total points scored.

The University of Florida beat Ohio State 41-14 to win the national title.

Brown, a graduate of Ohio Sate, is slated to embark on the physical feat in Nelson's Senate office at 3:15 p.m. ET.

The Florida Democrat plans to introduce a resolution honoring the Gators' victory later Tuesday, according to his office.

3. "According to Nelson's spokesperson..."
"The senator planned to snap a towel at Brown's rear end during the push-ups."

Ok, not really. But its good to see the freshman senator is fitting in with his new colleagues.

6. Yeah but I bet he was cursing each time Florida scored a touchdown
that was a blow-out last night, he was probably hoping the score would stay under 30
