America is like a goat with it's head stuck in a fence
Someone has to get it to back out if they want it to live. They try to push themselves forward no matter how much resistance there is. When I went out to feed the critters last night I could hear the cries from afar. Getting down to the barn I found a kid had stuck her head through the fence to browse in the Bucks pasture. Not backing up to get out she had stuck her head through another square back into her pasture and was in "lock-down". All the time I worked to get her to back up she would try to charge forward. It so reminded me of (*) and his "surge". And she was down there with her head in the fence again tonight, but only once this time.

Years ago, one of the sheep shearers we had come take care of our flock, told the story of some folks she knew who would loose their kids because they had a dog that would come eat the faces off the goats when they started crying after they had gotten stuck. I feel like our military is stuck in a fence called Iraq/Afghanistan (Somalia/Iran?) and if we don't have help getting out someone will eat our heads off.

My partner is reading "2012, the return of Quetzalcoatl", by Daniel Pinchbeck. He just had to come in and look up noosphere, an interesting concept. It led me to look up Omega_point.

Oh my, just what are we doing with ourselves I ponder from time to time.

3. about goats,

Goats just have 2 teats. (movie shows 3, looks like cow udder)

And though the movie asked "have you ever seen a goat eat himself?" It wasn't a buck. (but they will, and piss on their own face too for whatever reason)

4. Another animal metaphor--the monkey with his hand in the jar who won't let go of the bait.
Our government is stuck and unwilling to listen to those who are able to view the situation rationally.

My horse got his head stuck in a gate once. He did what horses do naturally which is pull back and use all of his strength to break it down. He started to panic--I knew he'd break his neck if he went into full meltdown.

I went to his head. He settled. Training and trust won over blind instinct for a minute. I told my daughter to push him forward. At first he resisted, then leaned into the gate. The minute the pressure came off his head the rational part of his little equine brain kicked in and he freed himself.

Sad to say the horse acted considerably more intelligently than our government and I mean both the arrogant fool in the White House and the Congress that enables him. The are like the monkey with his paw in the trap, unwilling to let go of the bait even when the men with clubs loom over him.
