Joe Lieberman on surge: "What's the Worst That Could Happen?"
The absurdity and sleaziness that is Joe Lieberman continues. The so-called "Democratic" Senator from Connecticut wholeheartedly supports a troops surge. He even considers George Dumbya a "great leader". How in Creator's name did this man get to keep his "D" at the end of his name? And don't give me that crap he won the election either. He simply should not be able to keep that "D" at the end. That was Ned Lamont's! The man should be considered a pariah among the ranks of the Democrats as long as he keeps that Senate seat. This Rolling Stone article's heading caught my attention. "What's the worst that could happen?" This man is so delusional.

I am sure Holy Joe would advocate a draft as well!

2. It's nothing more than a political equation to him
Soldiers dying in Iraq is so abstract it doesn't even register in his shriveled little brain.

3. The worst that could happen:
1. More troops are killed

2. More troops are injured severely

3. Our military becomes broken as the same people are sent back again and again for longer times

4. More Iraqis are killed

5. More Iraqis are injured severly

6. More of Iraq's infrastructure is destroyed

7. More people start hating Americans

8. More terrorists are recruited to al Qaeda

5. Being in Iraq alone we have just created more terrorists.
If there ever is another major attack on American soil do not be surprised if it is carried out by Iraqis. Then who will be to blame then? The world is a a more dangerous place now.

8. Yep - also
9. Our military can't respond to a legitimate threat somewhere else in the world because we've got too many troops tied up in Iraq.

10. The bloated U.S. deficit gets even bigger.

11. The Masters of War who profit from this debacle grow even richer, devote more resources to develop new and more horrible weapons, and lobby for new wars to use their products.

Somebody else's kid, father, mother, husband, wife... will die an unnecessary death or be maimed for life. No big deal for Joe!

6. Like I said, he did not earn that "D" at the end of his name.
Edited on Wed Jan-10-07 10:54 AM by Cascadian

Yet he and the media continues to consider himself a Democrat. He is not a real Democrat and should not be treated as such. He is a Conservative Independent Senator from Connecticut. That's all!

If Lieberman were a true Democrat he would not advocate this escalation of troops to Iraq but apparently he does not give a damn.

7. When I write LTTE's to CT newspapers about Lieberman, I always define him as CFL-CT
and I put a note to editor explaining to them that Lieberman is not a Democrat. He ran and won under the CT for Lieberman party and that is how he should be identified.

It will take time for this to work, but it's a start.

That does not make him a Democratic senator. He is not a Democrat. He was elected on the Joe Leiberman Party ticket. As far as I know, he has not changed his status.

14. How in the world did Gore choose this loser as his running mate?
Was Joe always this stupid and weak? Was he always this callous and dim? While I am still pissed that the Presidency was stolen from Gore in 2000, I am very grateful Joe has NOT been our Vice President for the past eight years. He would be in a prime position to run for President right now...and that just must never happen.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised he even asked this question. I would also like to send the excellent list generated by this thread to him.

Anyone have Joe's email address?

It was befuddling at the time and I'm convinced that the choice was enough to make the race as close as it was.

...there is a tab that reads "Contact Me" at the top of the page. Mind you, I'd like to contact him, namely his skull with a cricket bat.

I emailed him and gave him a piece of my mind. I felt like I had to shower for even being on his (literally) bloody website.

22. First, he doesn't use the (D) anymore.

He now refers to himself as an Independant-Democrat who currently caucuses with the Democrats.

Second, to answer his question, I won't speculate on the worst thing that could happen. But a worse thing that could happen, and that I believe is likely to happen, is that, after this escalation fails, we escalate the war further. Then again. And again and again.

The neo-cons are already claiming the only reason we lost Vietnam is because we did not stay. So would it be at all outside reason to expect them to point out that we had half a million troops in Vietnam, so why are we being so stingy in Iraq. Maybe all we really need to win in Iraq (they will reason) is two or three million men.

Edited on Thu Jan-11-07 05:58 AM by Jennicut
I voted for Lamont because this man is a delusional idiot. Your home country is the United States of America Joe, not Israel! If you don't like it than move there, we don't want you here anymore! My parents may have voted for this loser but I sure didn't. I knew he would be pushing for more escalation in Iraq and I believe he thinks we should bomb Iran's nuclear facilities and start WW-III. This is ridiculous. I still don't get why any Dems and smart Moderate Independents vote for this man in my home state. I am embarrassed he is from this state. Also, Chimpy was born here (ewwwww!!!) and was born at the same hospital I was, Yale New Haven. Its just gross to think about.

Israel, I wonder why he doesn't see that riling up Arab and/or Muslim nations, all of whom believe that the U.S. is too closely allied to Israel, might have very bad repercussions for both Israel and the U.S.

Then I remember that he's an idiot.

If anyone stumbles across any Loserman apologists from CT that are now eating crow, I'd be interested in reading about it.
