If we are waiting for the violence to STOP before leaving Iraq, then we will never leave. At what point will they know they have "won?" What is the benchmark? There will always be violence in Iraq, and as long as they continue to send troops there the longer this will play out. But then, that's what Bush and his neocons want. He mentioned Iran and Syria in his little talk, so there is exactly what it will lead to, because if he thinks they are the only ones who will now be adding more sacrifices he is deluded. And just how do they propose to quell violence? Allow more torture and other violations of international law? When and if they finally leave Iraq whether it be in six months or six years, there is no guarantee that the violence will stop. It is a sorry and lame excuse to use in order to kill more of our children. This is not about Bush and his GD legacy. There is only one word I can think of now: IMPEACH.
