Bring it on, Democrats! Don`t let up for a nanosecond. Hammer away at Bush`s treacherous policies and expose every last one of his repugnant lies. We may not succeed in bringing the troops home, but at the very least, we can make Bush`s last months in office a miserable experience for him.
Reframe every discussion, vote in every poll, put a sign in your window, write a letter, call representatives in Congress. Just get the word out and don`t let up. Be fearless about exercising your rights. Boycott, protest, march....and do it with pride. If you think little old you can`t make a difference, watch films on the Vietnam War protests or the civil rights and equal rights movements. This isn`t about revenge. It`s about reclaiming the power that is ours and putting "leaders" on notice that if they shirk their responsibilities and ignore the will of The People, they`re going to pay and pay dearly.
These are no ordinary circumstances, no string of regular days. The president has willfully circumvented our laws, scoffed at international laws and treaties, disgraced our reputaion, ignored our Constitution, sunk us into near financial ruin, lied us into a war and made decisions which lead to the killing and maiming of tens of thousands of people. He allowed hurricane victims to drown in their attics, deviously connected Saddam to 9/11, helped escalate a nuclear arms race, and made appointments based solely on political considerations instead of qualifications. He scoffs at alternative views from field commanders to scientists to global warming experts. Bush`s way or the highway. That`s the bully in him, the bully who is long past due a challenge. That`s where we come in.
