Saying they don't have the balls. Okay, fine, that's an opinion many here have. But I'd rather hear progressives say it then Conservatives. if you know what I mean

They're either trying to take the emphasis for the war off of themselves or it's a twisted way of saying they're against the war and against the president's plan, and need us to bail them out.

Should have thought of that before you supported him and helped swiftboat Kerry in 2004, you bastards.

They have good paying jobs because you listen to their nonsence.

3. These pundits seem to be awfully impatient for the Democrats to declare what they're going to do
to clean up the mishandler-in-chief's mess. They should have had a more critical eye on this administration before it got this country & Iraq into such a mess.

5. They are trying real hard to make Iraq a Democratic party problem
Edited on Thu Jan-11-07 04:27 PM by MindPilot
And there are posters here on DU who think that is entirely appropriate.

No. It is not the Democrat's problem; it is not even America's problem; it is very simply the Republican's problem.

They may have to come to us for ideas, answers, maybe even money and manpower, but we didn't start the fire.

13. Trust me: its our (Americans) problem.
Between the debt, the loss of liberties, the wounded, and the dead, it's most certainly our problem.

From the standpoint of Bush and those who support him, it's an inconvenience..

I don't care who gets us out of there and by what governmental mechanism they do it. I just want us out.

6. They can't bring themselves to tell the truth -- that the election was about stopping BUSH
Edited on Thu Jan-11-07 04:52 PM by pat_k
The quagmire in Iraq is just a part of the swirling mix of national outrage about the stolen elections, torture, criminal spying, corruption, profiteering, terrorizing the nation into war, making the United States a worldwide pariah. . . (For more see http://journals.democraticunderground.com/pat_k/19">The Election was about one thing. That one thing is a person. Bush)

The nation rejects the "surge" but is otherwise ambivalent about the war, which is to be expected. There is no good solution to, or escape from, a quagmire. That's what makes a quagmire a quagmire. Asking "What to do about the war (the quagmire)" takes us down a rathole of endless "debate." Going round, and round, and round about it may be fun for the pund-idiots, but it takes us no closer to redeeming the nation.

As a nation, we may be ambivilent about the war, but we are NOT ambivilent about Bush.

The question responsible commentators and journalists (if there are any left) should be asking is "Will Congress stop bushcheney?"

The ONLY way to stop bushcheney is impeachment. When they get the question right, the necessary action becomes unavoidable.

7. There is no good solution.
When Bush decided to go into Iraq, all the good alternatives were lost forever. Asking the Dems to fix this mess is like asking them to bring Jesus Christ back from the dead.

8. Spot on. "Can/will they stop BUSH" is the question. Impeachment is the answer to that one.

9. The editor of our county Dem newsletter and I had a bit of a laugh today
referring to Bush's plan as "the Kerry plan - 2 years too late"

The editor said he agreed with alot of what Bush said, but it was all too little too late.

10. One I am familiar with has guts, brains and a plan- Kerry.
Media pundits simple are to lazy to actually find out the truth or have been told they are to continue to attack good Democrats.

11. Sounds like your local pundits lack patience.
The solution is to never again vote for a Republican, always vote for Democrats. Then they will never have to wait for Democrats to fix the problems, there will be no problems.

12. The congress will not have the balls to stop Bushler's surge
They will all whine, bitch, moan, & piss but in the end
no one will have the balls to cut funding for the
troops. That is why we need a democrat in the WH in 2008.
Only the commander in chief can make tactical military decisions.
