If so, what role?
Did the Bush Administration focus group the plan?
If so, why? What were the focus group results? Did they affect the plan?

1. Sounds like something he'd come up with. But my vote is still |
|
on Cheney. But you know, it could be a Rove/Cheney joint project.

2. Karl was at Ft. Bragg yesterday. |
|
He was seated with his back to the camera, but he was photographed there by the NYT during Bush's speech to the troops yesterday. I should have made a copy but didn't have time to do that.

it's all about politics for these guys-and money, and trying to make the democrats vote against funding. It's the one thing they HAVE done consistently well. They're good at strategy, but since Katrina not ONE of their ploys has worked-isn't it funny how that's worked out?

9. Actually it is meant to bring the Dems in on the blame |
|
IF they agree they are forever linked (the MSM would cram this down everyone's throat)
IF they don't agree they are the reason we lost.
IF they cut off funding it is Vietnam all over again.

it make any difference. Bush still has to make (officially) the final decision. And do the horrible details change is person A, rather than person B came up with the plan?
I guess I'm asking, what political advantage one way or another does it make? What practical results will change? etc.

6. It might mean nothing. It might kill the plan. |
|
Rove is not a general. If it can be shown that the plan on the table was heavily influenced by Bush's political adviser, then I think that taints the plan badly. It will look like Bush tailored the plan for political gain. Politics should play no part in war planning.

5. Do we really need to ask? |
|
Everything they do is put through Rove's PR (political relations) filter.

7. Timed during the First 100 hours, of course he is.... |
|
trying to slow things down I'll bet. Pressure's on Congress now to beat the Silly Surge to death so they won't achieve most of their 100 hours goals, then Rove can thump his chest...THE DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS FAILED TO ACHIEVE IT'S 100 HOUR GOALS.
...something like that
