Has anyone else received the email accusing Barack Obama of being a radical Muslim?

I was forwarded an email (which I immediately deleted in anger) about Barack Obama, which purported to give his family history, stating that his mother was an atheist, his father and step-father were radical Muslims, and he had been educated in a Wahhabist (sp?) school in Indonesia.

The email was (and is) a disgusting piece of excrement.

I tried to find a copy of the text and found this analysis at snopes.com:

3. Lots of people believe those stupid emails.

I always check Snopes or Google the topic to see if the claim has been debunked. Then I select "Reply To All" when I forward the debunked link.

My mother is queen of inaccurate, mean-spirited emails. She doesn't verify anything she receives, she just blindly forwards it to everyone in her address book. She's a typical right winger: who cares if it's accurate? Just spread the lies & spread the hate.

5. I received the same email on Thursday from a retired Navy man

who specializes in forwarding lame-ass misinformation to one and all. He attached the message that "this guy" needs to be watched very carefully so that our country won't be taken over by Muslims. I replied the following message to everyone he sent the email to. To say that I've gotten hate mail in reply for supporting radical Muslims who want to destroy our country is an understatement. It appears the majority of people whom he sent this nonsense to are military people who do not want anyone challenging their perception of anyone. Evidently, rather than the truth, they are more comfortable in their racist biases. Here is what I wrote -
