The 100 hour boondoggle.
Edited on Sun Jan-14-07 05:18 AM by Q3JR4
I just have one question for all of you, what’s wrong with the Democrats in congress? They’re planning to use the first 100 hours in power to do things like raise the minimum wage, cut the interest rate on student loans in half, and allow the government to negotiate for lower Medicare drug prices.

I ask you, what's they’re deal? There are people in this country, right now, making it on the current minimum wage and they’re doing just fine. Little Jimmy is raised by the television set while his mom heads off to work at her two jobs to support their one bedroom trailer house in the “poor” section of town. I, for one, don’t see anything wrong with that. Little Jimmy won’t be getting the best education, and that’s in the best interests of this nation. Heck, we all know that less educated people vote Republican. Little Jimmy won’t have a good education, and when he grows up he’ll believe whatever the box that raised him tells him to. Hannity and O’Reilly will make sure that he’s raised a good little idiot who will toe the party line and vote Republican in every election. When he gets old enough he’ll be cannon fodder for a stupid president’s war ambitions. Ain’t nothing wrong with that, from what I can tell.

Why do those damn liberals have to mess with the interest rates on student loans? People who are less educated vote Republican. If you have three men making minimum wage that means that they're bosses get to rake in the rest of what should be theirs. At the same time, these three'll vote Republican. It's a win-win situation. The more people we can tax out of an education the better, that’s what I always say.

Finally, why would the government want to negotiate for lower drug prices? What have the drug companies done for us? That’s right! They’re the ones that create pill after pill to solve all of our problems (not cure them, just make them better so that we’ll buy more pills). You want to re-grow your hair? Their’s a pill for that. You want to loose weight? Their’s a pill for that too. Granted the moment you stop taking either you’ll be back in the same boat. What does that mean to you? Well, it means that you can’t ever stop taking these pills. Ever. The pharmaceutical companies will continue to rake in the money for things that keep you from loosing your hair, teeth, nails, and life. Heck, with all the crap they get to pump into the waters, you’d be amazed at how just how much the human body can take!

Wait…. You want to enforce those environmental laws? That will never go over! Americans are too smart to let you do anything that would make their lives easier. We should know, Republicans have been feeding them the same line of bullshit for the last 12 years. In fact, by now we're masters of bullshit. When are you liberals gonna learn?

1. That about sums it up. Excellent rant!
And I'm happy to see you use the correct verb in, "toe the party line."
