Why is only *one* of the *two* independents in the Senate, who caucus
Edited on Sun Jan-14-07 02:17 PM by salin
with the dems - saturating the talking heads news shows? Certainly it isn't because of being an 'independent, caucusing with the dems' or we would also be seeing Sanders all over the place. OH thats right its the media pretending Joe is a Dem and being the ONLY dem who supports bushnsurge he is the only one worthy of over saturation via tv talking heads.

1. Sanders is the socialist party and causcuses with dems.
He is not that well known. Liebermann was a vp nominee and the big deal last fall. It also amuses the media that he is a traitor to his party. Not out of meanness but, drama.

2. Oh, Sanders is well known alright, but...
...he does not spout the kind of talking points the corporate media wants to promote.

So move along, there is NOTHING to see here.

3. Officially - Bernie is identified as an "I"
Independent. Lieberman of the "Connecticut for Lieberman Party" is also considered officially an "I". I think you are right about the media finding him amusing - but I think as much for intentionally misleading the public (still refering to him as a Dem and all) as for the drama.

6. Lieberman is also listed as a DEE-EYE (D/I)
Which could stand for damned idiot. He also calls himself an "Independent Democrat" depending on his mood, I guess. But that CFL shit is dead in the water.

During the campaign, he called himself a "petitioning Democrat" but whatever...he's a bum, is what he is. A big fat childish whining bum, who thought that the seat belonging to one of two senators from his state was HIS personally....

He's busy, busy, busy, sucking up all around: http://www.nypress.com/blogx/display_blog.cfm?bid=53933740

5. Because Lieberman, like Biden is a great example of Dems without balls....
and so they are showcased to the American people...day in, day out!

7. Lieberman represents TENSION....and DRAMA.....
There's no secret where Bernie sits...he's way over on the left. Lieberman caucuses with the Dems, yet sucks up to the GOP. By occupying a place at the center of the see-saw, he has the ability to push things one way or another, all else being equal.

Only problem is, though, that too many GOP types aren't maintaining party discipline. See, that's what the MAJORITY party does...and GOP ship-jumpers put themselves in a position to get "considerations" for their cooperation...
