What do you want the Democrats to do "wrong"?

On which issues do you think that the Democrats should adopt a position other than the one you believe is the most moral, for reasons of expediency?

There are a few things I think they should do "wrong":

Gun control - I think UK level gun control at a federal level would greatly benefit the US, but the will of the American people is very clearly against it, to the extent that I think the Democrats should be too.

Military spending - I think the US should slash its defence budget immensely; in particular getting rid of most if not all of its nuclear weapons. However, doing so would be electoral suicide, and so I think the Dems should support continuing going on wasting at least some of that money, although I do think they should try and divert it into more useful projects that can still be labelled "defence".

Gay marriages at state or federal level - I think that gay marriage is a classic example of something that should be decided at a federal level, but I think the Democrats should do their best to make it a states rights issue, because if it's decided at federal level it will be banned everywhere, whereas at least some states will make it legal.

What issues do you think the Democrats should adopt a position other than the one you yourself hold on?

1. Health Care
I figure the Dems will come up with some sort of universal health care. It probably won't be the single payer with emphasis on wellness and the option to use holistic integrative medicine instead of cut-and-drug no wellness/prevention mainstream medicine, and it will come in increments, probably starting with children under 12.

2. Agree, health care
Although they should really start with 50-65 because we're the age group that's going to bankrupt the health care system if we don't have a method to pay for the treatments we will need in the next years. They can't let us die, so if we don't have preventive care of some sort, it's going to be the most expensive care, every single time.

3. I agree
but I don't see it getting passed. Boomers have been getting, by and large, a bad rep in the MSM. Easier to show cute and cuddly kids. But truly the way to keep health care costs down at all ages is to go the wellness route.
