What if we win the Whitehouse in '08
Think of the people you would like to see fill the cabinet.

Richard Clark
Bill Richardson
Joe Wilson to head CIA (wouldn't that chap their ass)

What would some of your picks be?

2. If he's not in the White House
Al Gore is a natural for EPA and Edwards for Health and Human Services. And don't forget US Ambassador to the UN Bill Clinton.

8. I had Jennifer Granholm,
but either of those would be okay, too. Maybe they could be in for two years and then move onto something else when Jennifer is term-limited.

6. Here are a few of mine:
Edited on Tue Jan-16-07 03:38 PM by SharonRB
(Of course, this assumes none of these will be president, but I hope Gore winds up running and winning).

Wes Clark - Secretary of Defense
Al Gore - Secretary of the Interior or Administrator of the EPA
Joe Wilson - Head of CIA
Bill Clinton - Secretary of State or UN Ambassador
John Edwards - HHS Secretary
Jennifer Granholm - Attorney General (but not until 2010 when she's term limite -- we need her here until then!)

Dennis Kucinich - Department of Peace

Bring back James Lee Witt and make FEMA a separate entity again.

14. Sharon... I'm going to beat you with a wet noodle!
Edited on Tue Jan-16-07 04:00 PM by Clark2008
Clark can't be Secretary of Defense unil 2010. Code requires the Def. Sec. be out of military service for at least 10 years. Clark will only have been retired for eight years by 2008.

Sorry - this is a pet peeve of mine. I always see, "I'd like Clark as Defense Secretary" but he can't be (and I think it's for a very good reason - to solidly make the commander of the military a civilian. Good policy).

:hi: how ya doin' otherwise?

18. LOL -- Guilty as charged -- Guess I don't know the rules.
Glad you're watching out for me. How do you know all this stuff?

I thought you were going to say he can't be SoD because he was going to be president! Hmmmm....so what post can he legally hold? I guess if the Big Dawg isn't SoS, I could put him there.

:hi:

20. He can hold any other post.
Edited on Tue Jan-16-07 04:05 PM by Clark2008
The code was written to specifically keep the defense secretary from being too close to the military - to make the defense leader a civilian, which I think is good policy (our founding fathers rocked, didn't they?)

And, I found that last time Clark ran when someone mentioned it - I think he even said something about it at some point. He would know.

But, yeah - I'll take him as president! Or Secretary of State. I think Big Dawg would rather be UN Secretary, myself. ;)

22. Rummy did serve - three years in the peacetime Navy.
The only member of the Bush Administration since Powell's departure that did serve.

But, of course, that was in the 50s or something. Rummy actually served with my hubby's father. Small world, isn't it?

26. ROFL!
I just had a funny thought: imagine a Faux News "reporter" asking Keith a question slanted in such a way as to make the Dem administration sound horrid (in that way that they do) and Keith responding with, "Whadda doing? Auditioning for the Worst Person in the World or something?"

Oh, the snark at those press conferences!
