1. I watched that on TV last night. Good stuff.
Colbert running rings around him and daring him to stand up for the sleaziness of his own arguments, which D'Souza really did not want to be seen doing... which only made him look worse.

2. I watched the original -- couldn't believe that asshat
If I wanted an outrageous thesis supported by dubious examples and brittle logic, I'd read some Coulter.

8. He made Coulter look pretty rational.
She should send him a muffin basket.

Of course he's stepping on her heels.

Make that...send him a rattlesnake."

6. The reason Muslim extremists exist.....
is because U.S. and British policy throughout the Cold War evolved around propping up Islamists throughout the region, because they believed (wrongly) that Arab nationalists were communists and that Islamists were a bulwark to these nationalists. And so you had Socialists, like Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in Pakistan, who were overthrown by Islamists like Zia ul-Haq who had close ties to the US. You had guys like Nasser in Egypt who the U.S. saw as a nuisance. You had secular nationalists like Mossadegh in Iran who were overthrown. The Soviet-Afghan War is only all-too-mentiioned. We lock horns with secular Syria on a daily basis, eventhough they are secular and eventhough they have been at war with Al Qaeda longer than we have. And last but not least, they removed secular Saddam so that pro-Iran fundamenalists could gain power.

Whether it is out of sheer idiocy or calculated interested, the West has pursued this policy of supporting Islamists for nearly 25 years, that by the 1980s there was little to stand in the way of Islamic fundamentalism throughout the region.

Oh and D'Souza is a loser of the highest order. He's the token minority that Republicans use for PR purposes.

9. So, D'Souza's argument is that we need to be more conservative
so Bin Laden wont attack us? Well, it seems to me if the bushes were doing the job they were suppose to be doing in this war on Terror, we wouldn't have to appease Bin Laden. It also implies that conservatives are like terrorists.
