Why do I feel like the guy has just got to be our President?
DO YOU BELIEVE that the only leader qualified to bring us safely out of the Global crisis we are in is AL GORE?
:patriot:
I want to know that I am not alone in this feeling that there just isn't anyone else we need more...

1. He's one of three capable figures based on their records - Gore, Kerry and Clark.

11. Gore/Obama, or Gore/Feingold would work for me, too.

4. because ...

The greatest leaders are not those who seek it but rather those that have it thrust upon them. At this point Al can run as a independent and possibly be free of the puppet masters that elevate candidates. The biggest problem I think is going to be keeping him alive for the duration of the job. I only say that because of John, Bobby and Martin...

10. I certainly hope he doesn't run as an Independent
There's no way he'd win without the Democratic nomination. A fact people may not like, but a fact nonetheless. It's a two-party system and we can't afford to fuck with it right now. (I'd think Gore himself would be quite familiar with why.)

5. gore is not running
he has said he is not interested.

he has NOT said he IS running.

why not believe him, unless you want him to make a liar out of himself?

then you would have a liar as a candidate.

would you vote for a known liar?

yeah, I know, they are all liars bla bla bla, except of course the one WE like :-)

6. He said he's not intending to run
We could try talking him into it. (Note: he didn't say he wouldn't run.)

12. If he changed his mind and decided he WAS interested,
no place in the UNIVERSE that's called a "lie". It's called changing one's mind.

I think the only person who might have trouble with this basic concept is one with an irrational, bitter hatred of Gore.

18. I would hate to know someone who harbors an irrational bitter hatred of Gore.
I can only imagine what a horrible excuse for a human being that would be...

7. Welcome Hercules - How bout this for a compromise
Lets ensure that a democrat gets elected President. Then Former President Gore (He will be former in 2009) will have a greater say in matters relative to ecology and environment. The dem team runs so deep.

19. Do you know a Democratic candidate who would be as strong?
Obama? Clark? I just don't feel like they have the conviction that Al has.

13. If Gore hears from enough people....
I think he may decide to run.....All of his no's just don't come across as 100% sincere.....

20. I believe him when he says he doesn't plan to run...
and who can blame him?
But I agree with you if there are enough who recognize his abilities, perhaps he will consent as a Statesman rather than a politician.

14. No. But I think he is one of only two who can right now.
Clark is who I chose for the job, but I would be thrilled to have Gore as our next President also. I think Kerry would do a pretty job too, but I think there is no way in hell he can get elected now. That is not a put down on the Kerry, it is just my sincere opinion. I think it helps Gore that he is not now seen as running again immediately after "losing" in his last try. I think it would make some sense for Kerry to cool his Presidential jets for awhile and see if the climate improves for him later.

So, Clark, Gore, or good luck. I like the quality of Obama's mind and I like Richardson's experience, but only Clark and Gore give me real hope for getting us out of this global crisis.

15. I like Gore, he's my #2 after Clark....
but time and again Gore has been so adamant in his declaration of not running in 2008. On multiple occasions.

To be fair, Clark hasn't announced anything yet, but at least the way he phrases his words leave open the possibility that he might, whereas Gore keeps flat out saying that he won't.

Needless to say, I like what the man has done with climate change and think he needs to run.

I see him running in 08, maybe with Obama as a running mate.

24. I believe!
Yesterday on CNN Headline News, I heard that 47,000 evangelical churches are now embracing global warming as a biblical mandate and Stephen Hawking has moved the Doomsday Clock forward 2 seconds because of global warming, something he considers second only to the nuclear threat as detrimental to the planet.

I thought that was rather prophetic and that it is indeed Al Gore's time to step forward.

25. No, I don't think he's the only one.
I think he's one of a very few. Wes Clark would be brilliant as President, he's my number one. I could go for a Gore/Clark ticket though.
