SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama (news, bio, voting record) may have a lot of explaining to do.
He voted against requiring medical care for aborted fetuses who survive.
He supported allowing retired police officers to carry concealed weapons, but opposed allowing people to use banned handguns to defend against intruders in their homes. And the list of sensitive topics goes on.

They're presenting the gun issue as if it's some sort of contradiction. Allowing trained individuals with a career in law enforcement to continue carrying makes perfect sense. Opposing allowing "banned" types of handguns in people's homes is also reasonable and doesn't contradict the decision on retired law enforcement. Not only do they present it as a contradiction, but they present it in a way that leaves many average readers thinking he's against handguns for self defense in general.
Obama isn't in my top 3 choices, but I like to defend reason and that article is quite poor in that area.
