Very subdued and somber McCain on MTP this morning.
Looks like he's at a funeral.

1. How do you know?. It's hard to tell the difference between his usual boringness or if he is subdued

2. I noticed that, too.
He acts like he's trying to convince himself that the reich wing talking points are worth discussing. He is an asswipe.

11. it could,
though Timmy seems like he could use some of that prune juice himself. Even short term exposure to Russert is likely to create constipation.

9. McCain an Idiot
I did not watch the interview, but I turned to Meet The Press just before Russert started to interview Ted Kennedy. Russert mentioned that McCain said that to vote against Bush's surge would be a vote of no confidence in the troops in Iraq. No the vote against Bush's surge would not be a vote of no confidence in the troops in Iraq, it would be a vote of no confidence in the idiot in the White House who cannot run the war right.

10. John Negroponte
They just showed a clip of John Negroponte claiming that if we leave Iraq the country will collaspe. Isn't Negroponte one of the people who said this war would be a cakewalk? Can he really be trusted to say that things would get worse if the American troops left the country?

12. The country was "collapsed" intentionally by US regime
Edited on Sun Jan-21-07 11:55 AM by teryang
...only internal Iraqi forces can resurrect it. We need to get out of the way and let them have it out. Once we are removed as a distraction and imbalancing force, they can gauge their relative strengths by combat and ultimately be forced to reach a new status quo.

We, like the Saudis, can covertly and overtly back the horses of our choosing, but our ground force and treasury don't need to be squandered in a flagrant and futile effort to line the pockets of bankers, energy corporations, and war profiteers. In fact, by backing a faction or factions in the civil war, we can get much more bang for the buck. This is leverage our enemies have now, that we do not have by attempting to play with regular forces to save a constitution we wrote to favor Anglo-American corporations.

It is cheaper to buy oil over the counter than go through this.
