Senator Brownback has tired eyes...
I wonder if he's not hiding an illness.

Just watched George Stephanoupolusiamous (sp?)(alas, limited channels off-air).
This is what I got from it about Mr. Brownback.

He hated Hillary Clinton, but later decided 'hating' isn't a good thing and apparently asked her forgiveness.

"Pro-Life" ("pro-birth" rather), though he cares for the suffering in Africa.
Clearly, against Roe v Wade--believes the states should decide.

IRAQ? Did support a temporary increase in troops (the "Surge") last month, but he went to IRAQ and talked to people there--who weren't in favor of it, so he's changed his mind, sort of--he still won't vote against the war (no preciptious pull out; seems to conflate that with any vote against the President's plans).

Oh, and of course, the "big" Republican issue of Marriage. He believes children are best raised under a man and woman joined for life. Thinks the gay-marriage issue should be left to the states. "Marriage Development Accounts"? Because we need more bigger, stronger families...

Faith-based prison? Great idea...

Well that's a little about one of the Republican contenders; seems typical.

3. If he is the nominee
and disgusted rank and file pubbies decide to stay home on election day and he is totally trounced, it will mean the end of the mesalliance between the rich and the lunatic for the GOP. They may be wrong, but they're not stupid, and "can't get elected with 'em, can't get elected without 'em and they're a pain in the ass" might just do it to push them aside.

Being pushed aside is not what the theocracy besotted are used to and it's completely the opposite of what they want, so I'd expect them to found their own party.

This would be the absolute best thing for the pubbies, although it would shut them out of the presidency for a while. Congressmen would still be elected by pubbie districts and life would go on.

And yes, he is going to be fun to watch, in a fulminating, Elmer Gantryish sort of way, like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

4. While I disagree with him on just about everything...
I do respect him... unlike our current president he does actually seems to show some compassion for the down trodden.

6. SOME compassion, but not enough
He's my senator. It's all about ABORTION, ABORTION, ABORTION with him. No help adopting babies, no help with health care for babies beyond the fetus stage, no stem cell research to help cure diseases (but I heard he is changing his stance on this?). He appears to care more about the needy in Africa than the needy in Kansas.

Plus he is just a royal TWIT.
