Al or Hillary?
I would do a poll or vote, but don't know how. If someone else would poll this question, I would be grateful.

Me? AL. No question about it.

5. Only one change - Gore/Anybody in 08
In fact, I wonder if it's legal to run Gore / Big Dawg in '08.

6. I like Al Gore
more..but I have serious reservations about him. I want to WIN in 08. I am well aware that he won in 00 and it was stolen from him by the Right...but I feel he should have been able to win that race by a much wider margin. He didn't have the controversy Clinton had in his personal life...plus he was around to take credit for all the good things in the 90's...it should have been a cake walk for him. I would still consider supporting in him the primary but I would need proof he could win. Hillary is okay and I think she could win....but her war stance makes me sick.

10. Al was belittled and demonized by the media
Who lionized our Peter Principle in Chief Bush as a regular guy and a plain speaker as opposed to a blithering idiot who had managed to pretty much ruin every enterprise he came in contact with. Al was the victim of grotesque media slams and smears. I think we can all recognize these tactics far better nowadays and fight them off far more effectively. Imagine, the media labelled Gore as "untrustworthy" and a "liar" and then they delivered Bush!!!!

The media won't have that chance this time around. Events have proved how crappy the so-called political analysis was in that election. And in the last one as well. Al Gore's words and actions speak for themselves.

11. True, but...
the Clintons were smeared in the media as well and that didn't stop Clinton from winning two landslide victories..

12. Clinton had no coatails and we lost the House and the Congress
in the second election even though Clinton himself hung in. And then we were treated to the Newt years. Clinton was a huge albatross around Gore's neck in the 2000 election.

7. I still like both of them...
while watching An Inconvenient Truth, I kept thinking "Where was this guy in 2000?" He was so charismatic, warm and funny in that movie. I think his handlers completely smothered him during his run. I know Hillary has made nice with the right at times and it pisses me off a bit, sure. But she is an incredible speaker, and very smart. She has a lot of positive qualities in common with Bill, and I think she'd be good at defending herself from the right-wing sh*t-slinging machine.

13. says who? I have eliminated the word "electable" from my vocabulary
I believe it is the hallmark word of political hacks and pundits who know not whereof they speak.

And I don't mean that you yourself are a political hack or pundit and I am not discounting your opinion about this. It's a trap I have fallen into myself far too often in the past. From now on, I am a completely "to thine ownself be true" type of voter and I pay no attention to the handicappers.

14. Phoebe, I just did your poll for you
In the future, if you want to do polls, first click on "Post", just like you normally do to start a new thread. Then click on "Click here to post a poll"
which you'll find at the top of "Your Message" box (4 lines above the "Subject" line). I've often looked twice for that link myself, btw. Then just fill in the "Question" part and put in a message if you wish below that. After that, just type in each choice down below in the numbered spaces and then preview your poll before launching it with the "Create Poll" button at the bottom. :)
