You will NEVER silence me, William Kristol!
Ever! As an authentic American, it is my DUTY to speak out against injustice! This war is illegal and immorral...WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED!

Kristol On War Critics: ‘It’s So Irresponsible That They Can’t Be Quiet For Six Or Nine Months’

This morning on Fox News, Weekly Standard editor William Kristol said that opponents of escalation in Congress are “leap-frogging each other in the degrees of irresponsibility they’re willing to advocate.” Kristol said, “It’s just unbelievable. … It’s so irresponsible that they can’t be quiet for six or nine months,” adding, “You really wonder, do they want it to work or not? I really wonder that.”
<snip>

F*ck you, you treasonous rat bastard! We will hold this corrupt and treasonous administration ACCOUNTABLE! Take that to the bank, you rotten, filthy traitor. You and your war profiteering pals are through.

:grr: :grr: :grr:

3. Next he'll use...
the old Bush adminisitration standbys like it is unpatriotic to criticize their policies because we're supposed to unite together to fight the terrorists. Despite the Bush administration batting .000 in foreign policy, we're still supposed to wait 6 to 9 months to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Why doesn't he say we should wait two years until Bush leaves office and then we'll be allowed to raise our objections?

5. Thanks, Fooj, I have been steaming ever since I heard that
on Chris Wallace's weekly show,
if the democrats just followed Bush, we would not have 3
branches of government but a monarchy, Hark, the king speaks,
all yield to his royal majesty, this is exactly what the
Founders did not want.

17. What Teddy Roosevelt said about criticizing the president
"The president is merely the most important among a large number of public servants, Roosevelt explained in 1918. "He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency in rendering loyal, able and disinterested service to the nation as a whole.

"Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile.

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or anyone else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else."

T Roosevelt, 1918

6. He's blaming the few quiet voices that have spoken out about this
monstrous war for the plain fact that the whole god damn mess is a failure. Well mr genius, it would have still been a failure if everybody had been completely silent about it.

18. no president has gotten more support than Bush for 4 years
and where has it gotten us, a failed war policy, thousands dead, loss of a major US city,
the press is supposed to report the facts not spin them.

11. We've been "quite" for over SIX YEARS now - by my calculations, we have an awful lot of catching up
to do now - after all - HE suggested only 6-9 months!

Got a lot to do now....

12. I can't believe that asshole...
Give it a chance to work? He was one of the biggest proponents of this war. He and his brilliant friends thought it would be over in a few short weeks at the most. Now, four years later, they want us to be silent and give them another chance to get it right? The chutzpah!

15. Well...
I believe that an authentic American is one who believes in our Constitution and the rule of law. I believe that "authentic" Americans walk the walk...

There's many imposters running around these days posing as Americans. They are anything BUT, imo...

16. Without the neo-cons we might have had an American century
Nothing has done more to undermine the United States and cut American hegemony off at the knees than this man and his co-horts. Were there justice, this man would likely be tortured himself, tried for treason and sent to the Hague. Were our original commander in chief in charge today he might be sumarily executed with barely a mention. But this is America and the man still has a voice despite the objectively proven disaster his policies have wrought. He is as dangerous as ever.

26. A very telling quote by Wm Kristol
“Among conservatives there's been too much pseudo-populism, almost too much concern and attention for, quote, 'the people'... After all, we conservatives are on the side of the lords and barons... We...are pulling up the drawbridge against the peasants.”
- William Kristol
