Frank Luntz wants to help the "Democrat" party. No, really, he does.
 I know what you're saying to yourself: "Do you mean the same Frank Luntz who is the GOP wordsmith, the guy who polls each and every word the Republicans utter to maximize political damage to the Democrats"? Yes, the very same Frank Luntz and he has a lot to say about the new Democratic majority and how we should conduct ourselves in the halls of power. If nothing else, it's a great Monday morning chuckle. From the Huffington Post.......

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/frank-luntz/words-that-dont-work_b_39208.html

From Frank Luntz's Blog:

I am not in the habit of offering partisan linguistic advice to Democrats. But in the genuine spirit of bipartisanship - seriously - I thought this is the perfect time to convey a simple point to the still-euphoric faces of Democrat activists ...

Don't twist the knife...

...The Democrats - flush with majority status - have a crucial choice right now. They can use their newly-won mandate to settle some old scores...or they can get responsibly and move ahead. They would be wise to opt for the latter.

 There's a lot more and I think you should pay special attention to the comments from the HuffPo crowd. Frank, you ARE a tool!

2. Whenever anyone says the "Democrat" party
They should be called on it, on the spot, and be corrected. I'd like to see the word go out to all Dems on talk shows, etc. Do Not take it!!

3. Iraq is not a dangerous place to be????
In the world according to Luntz: "Speaker Pelosi callously suggesting that President Bush is moving quickly to "put troops in harms way" is a short jump away from suggesting that the President is deliberately trying to get our soldiers killed."

He posts this garbage on the same weekend that 27 US soldiers were killed in Iraq.

And already this morning - 70 civilians killed in a double car-bomb attack.

So I guess Luntz won't mind if we send him to Baghdad? :eyes:

4. I love this little tid-bit of Frank's wisdom....
"Democracy is at its best when its practioners use language to unite and explain rather than divide and attack".

:wtf: Hey, Frank...you might want to have a little chat with your President and Vice President who continuously label Democrats as, "appeasers of Osama Bin Laden" and "defeatocrats". Your side originated the partisan war of words and now you want the Democrats to play nice, speak nothing but kind and gentle words to the very people that created this mess in the first place?

Two words, Frank. Fuck off. Poll those and see if they stick. :grr:

5. Dear Mr. Lying Luntz..
... Fuck "bipartisanship", a concept you blatantly hypocritical asswipes are only interested in when you are in the minority.

Fuck your useless advice. We don't need it, we don't want it and nobody with a brain bigger than a pea believes it.

If your party doesn't help us rein in your delusional president, you will be out of power for a very long time. Please practice your plaintive, insincere writing, you are going to be doing a lot of it.

7. By Luntz' account, the gop Social Security privatization was "meaningless messaging"
"For two years the Republican Party was adrift in meaningless messaging to support meaningless reform - and have communicated absolutely nothing for the past three months."

8. Oh no, not Frank Luntz
Edited on Mon Jan-22-07 07:32 AM by LeftishBrit
He is known here for trying to boost John Reid as a possible leader of the Labour Party. Fortunately it won't happen. But it would be absolute bloody disaster if it did. He is a horrible right-wing authoritarian Home Secretary and former Defence Secretary, who practially makes Tony Blair look like a far-leftist in comparison. He has openly campaigned to the right of Tory leader David Cameron. If the Democrats start using Luntz, they'll probably end up with someone like Zell Miller as their leader. Argh.

9. Democrats will actually be able to "settle some old scores" and get the
job of Congress done ... unlike the vacationing/campaigning Repukes who scheduled the least number of working days in modern history ... I guess there weren't any more brain-dead poster children (women) for them to fly in on a weekend for a midnight vote ... the very same people who are whining that they might actually have to work on Mondays and Fridays like the (shudder) common, working folk ...
