Why no "Issues" section on HillaryClinton.com?
Very interesting. I would think that any Presidential candidate would want to lay out their goals and agenda for their administration in easy-to-read jargon so that anyone could grasp it.

3. To be fair...
Her "Hillary" section talks about what she did as First Lady and as US Senator from New York. But I need a little more than "She has visited..." or "She worked to strengthen..." or "She has passed..." in order to win me over. I want to see some specifics from her campaign in terms of what we can expect from her as President. I mean, we will be paying her salary and all that...

16. Isn't Hillary in exploratory mode?
At least thats what was said last Friday via the internet announcement.
And the primary reason for the submission of questions for the live stream event beginning
tonight.

No doubt ending the Iraq War would be the primary focus. I still want to
hear what the Nation is thinking are important issues open for consideration.

5. It's way too early for "issues"
We're having "conversations" right now, trying to determine which way the wind is blowing and then deciding if it is worth taking a stand on anything. And then changing her mind....

7. Would it make any difference if there was such a section?
In my experience over the last two decades, it is a very rare politician who lays out anything other than vague, mealymouthed platitudes as "issues." Rare when discussing local candidates, and totally non-existant when speaking of statewide and national candidates. Politicians don't dare discuss issues; they want to appeal to as many people as possible, so they daren't espouse any particular viewpoint on any possible issue. Those candidates that do take a concrete stand on a concrete issue are basically admitting that they are running for show and are not serious about their campaign.

(Please note, this is not a slam on Clinton, this is a general observation of all political candidates of all parties.)

Since Clinton is serious about running, it is extremely unlikely that she will ever give a clear position on any well-defined issue. At best, we can expect obvious platitudes like "Of couse I'm against molesting children" and misty comments that allow people to draw whatever conclusions they want, such as "We need to do things differently in Iraq."

I dare say that the only Issues page ever to be put on Clinton's, Obama's or any other serious presidential candidate's website will be as meaningful, as deep and as useful as the daily horoscope in the local news paper.

9. Exactly! Pandering to Media is rewarded and dispensing information is resented,,
is it our fault for becoming so superficial?

This is January 2007. Most people pay no attention until after Labor Day 2008!

The whole think is ludicrous.

18. Oh, come on
the website has been up for less than three days. There's barely anything on it other than her biography. It's technically only a exploratory committee right now, not even a full-fledged campaign. But if you really want to know what issues she's going to take on, then you should probably check out her web chats.
