"....Mr. Bush’s overall approval rating has fallen to just 28 percent, a new low, while more than twice as many (64 percent) disapprove of the way he's handling his job...."

15. Now that was a victory to behold, wasn't it? And I know you
were on the frontlines from the beginning.

How good is that -- to be a big part of a successful Senate campaign, AND to upset an arrogant bigot like George Macaca Allen in the process?

Not bad at all, good person. Not bad at all.

4. Doesn't matter much anymore...
His approval rating could fall to the single digits,
and he will continue to do as he pleases.

8. That's true, but...
it still made me smile when I saw that on the news tonight. With that S.O.B. & his pack of creeps in charge I'll take all the smiles I can get cuz they are few & far between.

18. I was at a meeting today
Edited on Mon Jan-22-07 09:06 PM by tnlurker
With four women co-workers. The subject of the TV show 24 came up and one person said it was too real for her. She just wants to live in her Pollyanna world and not know what's going on until the last ten seconds of her life. She was okay with the world blowing up as long as she did not realize it until the last moment. One of the other ladies called it blissful ignorance and they all agreed that it was best for them.
But they all knew what happened in the football games the night before.

That is how you get the 28%. Some people have total willing ignorance. They don't want to know. They just want to trust their leaders and be left alone to watch their TV, be absorbed in their lives, and be left alone.

20. Exactly. Go to any number of online newspapers -
including NYT, WP, Chicago Trib, etc. Look at their "most viewed" articles. About 75% are either sports or celebrities, or self-improvement. The rest are mostly video game and other tech info articles.

Sad, isn't it?

21. this was an amazing comment on that cbsnews.com site:
"If Bush was so truly unpopular as these Kerry Whitehouse predicting polls would like you to believe, Bush would have lost more than the average number of Congressional seats in the midterm election..."

No matter how many examples of rightwing insanity and stupidity we see, it still astounds me to read something like that and realize they're SERIOUS.

:wow:
