Gore/Webb 2008 ? Could America do better?

Does anyone else feel Jim Webb would greatly enhance the ticket?

3. Gore isn't running, so stop talking about it...

10. And you never should give up hope!
With the serious bs dished out to us in the past 12 years and especially in the last six, we need a huge change. I would not be a bit surprised.

Gore just doesn't want to play the media's game and I seriously think he's playing them.

7. Welcome to DU.
He can say "I'm not running." He hasn't said that. There's still enough politician left in him to know how to play the game. Wait until after the Academy Awards and the publication of his new book, "Assault on Reason." There's no reason for him to rush into it and every reason for him not to.
By the way, Eisenhower was drafted.

8. Hell, not much
but something tells me that Jim Webb wouldn't be a good Vice anything, he'd have to be the real deal, cause that's what he is.

9. So, all of a sudden, he's a presidential candidate?
Edited on Tue Jan-23-07 10:38 PM by ContraBass Black
Hell, I campaigned for him, and even I don't think much of that idea.

12. Everybody's a presidential candidate here
as soon as they do something impressive. You haven't noticed that about DU yet? :D

11. If the Dems don't pull it together for '08
I could see myself supporting Webb in '12.

17. Heck yes...but this might be a bit soon.
He's barely been seated in Congress yet.

Having said that, Webb is one of my favorites on the national scene.

18. Are we really so needy, that
the minute one man makes a speech that stands out, we think he should run for president...it makes my heart hurt, that we appear so desperate for viable candidates, or A viable candidate...I notice this more and more, and wonder if it's a sort of sickness we are suffering from...please do NOT take this wrong...there is nothing wrong with Gore or Webb...just making an observation about something that worries me just a little...
