Per Chris Matthews, a nugget he got from the speech tonight:
the road to Baghdad goes through Israel and Palestine.
Thoughts? and I'm shocked and delighted this was even addressed.

1. Did Chris Matthews really say that?
If so, can't wait to see the video clip of it. AMAZING!!!

But even so....trying to solve THAT problem.....the whole thing was built on a bad foundation. That's why any 'solution' is tumultuous and won't endure. *sigh*

3. I can't make this stuff up!
And solutions? Think Iraq and the ongoing religious wars, and why they're linked to I/P with their wars. I honestly don't think it's fixable, so why did * even try? Because no one thought a solution would be needed, which addresses the extent of their cluelessness.

2. Tweety's such a media whore, obermann barely got a word in sideways

And make no mistake, Dear Leader is NOT about diplomacy but wants to continue to make a financial killing via The War Machine and perpetual wars.

It could not be lost on anyone that he stated that, in Orwellian Speak, "we will always be at war with Eurasia." That is, he's going to keep our troops bogged down in the middle of a civil war until he leaves the White House. :(

Remember Tweety is part of the Journalistic Power Players within The Beltway. As such, he spins like a top so as to be invited to all the parties by the politicos, both democratic and republican. If you try to pin any firm stance on anything Tweety says, you will find disappointment as he turns a 180 within the next week of programming.

5. Of course it does, you're implying that Tweety is somehow psychic?
Edited on Wed Jan-24-07 01:41 AM by ShortnFiery
I certainly (and most others) didn't get that impression.

Walk away from the corporate media, especially those within the cocktail circuit of The Beltway. They are nothing but phony and Tweety squawks lines that only lead to generalized confusion. Next week, hell, perhaps during the next show, he'll claim the 180, i.e., it goes to bombing the living shit out of Iran.

Why you hold this man up to some intellectual moral standard is beyond me. It's like you're Charlie Brown holding the football for Lucy.

6. No you talked about dear leader, I talked about the
road to Baghdad perhaps being through I/P. And it got my attention specifically because I had never heard Matthews even acknowledge it before. I thought it was news. And no, he's not anything other than a talking head. But he talks and does make sense sometimes.

7. Ok, that's fair, but many people can't see how Tweety, the genius,
Edited on Wed Jan-24-07 02:14 AM by ShortnFiery
gleaned that conclusion out of Dimson's speech. :wtf: The foregoing is what he was implying ... of course a comment like that will ensure that KKKarl will invite him and wifey to the next political social soiree. :eyes:

That's the way it works around The Beltway with the corporate media elite. ;)

p.s. The same "pearl of wisdom" (solve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict first) was given to Cheney during 2002, by the royal family of Saudi Arabia when he visited. Yet, they still invaded Iraq. Go figure?

8. I do have to give Tweety credit for one statement he made tonight...
Shortly after Jim Webb gave the Democratic rebuttal.. Matthews said:

"Wow. I don't think I've ever seen the opposition coming away the winner like that before.. Webb was incredible."

Dayum. Kudos to him for that!
