2. Well, he's part of that group that uses language as a weapon.
Let hm. People are starting to wake up and recognize their clowning for what it is.

We should also make it more public that that term originated as a way to denigrate Democrats. Hard to do when you don't own the media, but it can be done.

6. * used the term in the STOTU speech when the pre-printed copy read "Democratic."

Tweety, Keith and Brokaw were discussing this last night and one of them said Chimpy just "couldn't help himself."

Chimpy is such a total asshat. Gawd, I detest that man. :grr:

I believe the Rethuglicans are trying to control our emotions by using the noun instead of the adjective. I think that the term originated in Newt Gingrich's Contract on America handbook. :(

I don't know if it's better to ignore them or to retaliate with "Republics."

edit: sp.

11. Gingrich certainly helped make it "POP-ular"
I read somewhere that the term actually came about many years ago, but it was Gingrich and his wordlists that put it into ConSpeak.

7. As long as
the Republics* are playing with words rather than destroying the country, I figure we win.

* Thanks to another lister here for doing that first and inspiring me.

That way I can follow it up with: "And get me a pint of bitters."

15. In Case You Missed It
The Publicans have become masters of Newspeak. Unless we fight it they could morph another word the way they did "Liberal."

17. How about that "Republic" party
Seriously, they should be called out on this EVERY time they do it and be forced to clarify. They're bullies; they'll understand this tactic and sheepishly crawl away.

18. Don't let it get to you
The more we kick and scream -- the more they will keep doing it.

Is there something wrong with being a Democrat?

First we let them turn Liberal into a bad word.

I am proud to be a Democrat!! :)
