You're a good man and a good senator and would have made a fine president.

I'm struggling to think of any recent politician who has gotten as unfairly crucifed and mistreated as you have. But history will redeem you, sir, and as the Chimp's horrible administration continues to collapse, you look better everyday.

I'll always have an enormous amount of respect for you and that will never change. As we begin to repair the damage that the last hellish six years have wrought, I'll be satisfied knowing we have somebody like you on our side.

Well said. In our TV/sound bite age, he lacked the "star qualities," that necessary style that would have clearly won him the election, I believe. He certainly has substance and heart.

4. Really Can't Help But Feel Very Very Sad.... I Knew It Was Going

to happen somehow, but having the words actually spoken makes me feel even worse.

I waited many many years for him to run and worked my heart out to get him elected, but in the end we got SCREWED and so did America! They went after him with a vengeance, the likes that are hard to match, and they just never stopped!

8. Agree with you

on all counts. I don't know how he does it...if I were in his position, I'd probably be shooting death glares at the Chimp-in-Chief every chance I got. (Which would, of course, make me look bad...I'm well aware of this, and it's one reason I don't plan on entering politics.) ;) Still, I do believe that John Kerry is a good guy, and I'm glad we've at least still got him in the Senate.

I'm not good at this and noticed it only after someone pointed it out. Kerry looks completely comfortable with himself, dignified and focused on the purpose. Bush looks frazzeled in many pictures with him. If someone didn't know who was who, they would think the leader was apparent - but they would guess the wrong man. (Also have you seen a happy Bush photo in the last year - in spite of all the garbage - there are many of Kerry.)

6. I think there is a lesson here to be had.

If being President is your lifelong dream, then when the chance comes your way, a chance that for most is only once in a lifetime, risk everything you have, your reputation, your money, and fight to the end.

I'm sure Kerry was wronged by the Republicans in 2004, I'm sure Kerry won that election. But I'm also sure, that only he could have led the charge that would have exposed the deceit, even if at first it made him look like a fool or if he looked like it was sour grapes.

12. More honor in being a good, dedicated Congressperson...

...than in being an imcompetent, backpedaling, wimpy Presidential candidate.

Especially in these times, when everybody insists that they have to be a superstar or be nothing, people have forgotten that there is good, important work to be done outside the number one position. Kerry was the wrong person to run for the Presidency, period.

However, I concede that he could be a good member of Congress, and he could do a great deal of good...IF he is forthright in his plans to help end this war. Perhaps, if he doesn't think he has some kind of Presidential gravitas to protect, he can actually fight back when he is attacked. He might be able to drive home points that, for a Presidential candidate, might seem too "strident" or "undignified."

Talking passionately about Congress' responsibility to help end this wrongful war? Obviously not, because he spoke the truth, honestly and bluntly. And obviously you haven't watched John Kerry speak forcefully about Iraq in the last few years offering real vision to bring our men and women home safely.

Are you suggesting he hasn't been a good member of Congress? I think his 20 years of service standing up for whats right qualifys you to be a good member of Congress. What was that poll from 2006 that showed John Kerry as the most trusted Senator from 2006? Someone get me the link so this person can have their eyes opened.
