Edwards to speak at Wake Forest next Monday

Former Senator John Edwards to visit Wake Forest for conversation series

Wake Forest University will present “A Conversation with John Edwards” at 4 p.m. Jan. 29 in the university’s Wait Chapel.
The event is free and open to the public. The doors will open at 3:30 p.m. Public parking will be provided on Davis Field, across from Davis Residence Hall.
Edwards, who formerly represented North Carolina in the U.S. Senate, announced in December that he is seeking the Democratic Party’s nomination for president of the United States. Edwards made a bid for the presidential nomination in 2004. Democratic Sen. John Kerry, who won the party’s nomination in 2004, selected Edwards as his running mate during the 2004 election.
Edwards is participating in the Wake Forest School of Law’s “Conversation With” series. In recent years, the series has brought several national figures to Wake Forest, including Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor.
During the event, Edwards will respond to questions presented by moderator Miles Foy, executive associate dean of the law school.

Edwards practiced law in North Carolina for approximately 20 years. He is a graduate of North Carolina State University and the law school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is the former director of the Center on Poverty, Work, and Opportunity at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
