Got to get this off my chest.....
Why the hell are we concerned about who our best a** in chief is going to be in 2008, when we are in the midst of a thrust to war against Iran the ramifications of which could be disastrous.

I don't understand why people are so concerned about which politician has the nicest smile when we are in the midst of potentially catastrophic events?

It just doesn't make sense to me....?

1. Don't short-change us. We have one or two things on our
minds.

2. Sometimes you just go with hope..because you need balance in your
internet life. And the Democratic Nominee race is a very hopeful thing.

3. We're still coming down from the mid-terms.
I think we've expended a lot of emotional energy on the elections, the aftermath, the 100-hour program, the "surge" in Iraq, the State of the Union, and the Dem response to the surge. The crap about who is going to run against whom in 2008 is just fluff for those that like to speculate about what really isn't ripe for speculation.

That said, I share your disappointment sometimes with DU's (and our party's)present lack of focus or direction. We were swept into power chiefly to put an end to our bungled adventure in Iraq. Passing "sense of Congress" resolutions that the "surge" is a "bad idea" and "not in the national interest" isn't, I think, what we elected our people to do. As for Iran, I share your concern that our fabled "decider" and his Keystone Kop cabal of Neocons are about to involve us in more dangerous and expensive stupidities.

5. It's a game...
if one were serious about the political apparatus wouldn't they be more concerned that their vote count, than what the T.V. says about Tom, Dick, and Harry? If the nukes go we won't be here to bitch about 2008, so they may as well have their fun.

11. It was just brought to my attention..
recently, that if a bunch of nukes go off in the Middle-east we are all pretty much gone. I had been under the impression that only that geographical area would be affected. Silly me. But, I'll take Hillary in the eighth round...oops..change that..I meant Hillary to win, Obama to place, and anyone in the field to show..unless the track is sloppy.:hi:

13. Yes...I'm serious..
I thought if a bunch of nukes went off on the other side of the world...I'd still be sitting pretty. What a rude awakening that was. But I don't think we're arguing, but if we are...let me know!

14. So you're really serious...You don't think a nuclear war on any scale today

15. Correct. Until recently..
I was under the impression that firing off nukes would be another Hiroshima type deal. To tell the truth, I still don't understand how nukes, energy and atmosphere do what they do. The person that tried to explain this to me was surprised as well, especially since I didn't believe it. One of those... What you don't know isn't real.

16. First thing is Russia and China get very active. Together they are an economic
powerhouse. The American Media hasn't wanted to admit it but the US is a dead economic model. In fact China and Russia combined have become the wave of the future. Russia now has vastly more control over Europe than we are willing to admit which is exactly why Germany and France are not in Iraq right now. They're getting oil out of Russia by the fleet.

Russia had extended its influence into Iraq. We couldn't have that. In effect communism has been winning and we've been losing.

6. I think Iran's a distraction.
For the last six years the administration has wanted us to be afraid of our own shadows. Now they want us to be afraid of a war with Iran.

I ain't buying it.
