Its Not America Anymore.
Edited on Fri Jan-26-07 11:03 PM by mayflower
Launching a Unilateral War of aggression based on falsified intelligence, undermining our freedoms with the passage of the Patriot Act (with full Congressional Support and Approval), engaging in illegal wiretapping of our phone calls, invading our privacy by reading our mail, and issuing hundreds of signing statements instead of just vetoing legislation are all horrendous infringements on our Bill of Rights and Constitution that scream out for the Impeachment of the Presidential Dictator and his Vice President. This is NO time for Pelosi and the rest of Congress to make nice, smile and clap.

Imprisoning enemy combatants and American Citizens alike, and holding them without charges or any shred of evidence, while torturing them and holding them without trial is a gross violation of human rights, our Constitution and the Geneva conventions. If the government is DOING IT TO THEM, they are doing it to EVERYONE! BIG BROTHER has now started arresting defense lawyers even duirng non terrorism related trials, and the DOD has recently admitted surveilling peace groups around the country. Our government is clearly OUT OF CONTROL and AT WAR with its own citizenry. By violating our Consitutional Rights, the government has enslaved us to their imperialistic vision.

How much are we willing to take? If this keeps up, another American Revolution is inevitable.

The majority of our elected representatives have sold us out to lobbyists, and in doing so they have transformed our country from a Democracy into Corporatism. All one needs is a stroll down K Street to understand what our nations has become. It's a travesty. It's not America anymore.

Now our rogue government and our national dictator want to strike Iran, perhaps with nukes. This act of insanity will surely crash our economy and no doubt fail spectacularly, and perhaps even invite international sanctions on our country, which could bankrupt the lot of us.

Bush is singlehandedly DESTROYING America. He hates our Constitution, our Bill of Rights and US. His hubris knows no bounds. He stands for everything our Founding Fathers were against.

When will Congress bring out the Articles of Impeachment? What the fuck are they waiting for -- Bush to stick us all in Gulags (including them!!!)

Our government is at war with us. It is a fascist regime. The Democratic Congress MUST ACT NOW to IMPEACH BUSH and RESTORE our FREEDOMS AND PRIVACY Rigts. We must salvage our Democracy. To Wait till '08 will be too LATE!

I implore everyone on this board to demand the Democrats Impeach Bush IMMEDIATELY and rescind the Patriot Act and Military Commissions Acts and jail him and Cheney for the remainder of their natural lives. The Survival of our Democracy, our Constitution, our Bill of Rights and OURSELVES Depends Upon it. We will either live free, or eventually die in the streets, just like the Iraqis.

My heart is with all patriots tonight. Thank you for your time patriot.

1. I don't think he hates the constitution.
I just think he's too stupid to undertand it and what it means. He's the 8 year old who says "Someday, I'm gonna be president and you won't be able to make me do anything I don't wanna!".

at least TALK to Iran.

But our Dear Leader gets his advice for "a higher" Father.

:wtf: This psychopath is seemingly hearing voices in his head that scream, "Kill all the Muslims for Jesus!"

Cheney pisses on The Constitution while Gonzo smirks and ignores Congress. :grr:

RIGHT AWAY, we need to *demand* that our Congress Members, both Democrat or Republican, must IMMEDIATELY investigate and Impeach both King George and Darth Cheney.

It may be too late but dammit we have to try!

9. I do.
The disdain and contempt he shows for that "goddamned piece of paper" goes beyond being mentally challenged.

There are so many instances of Bush deliberately trampling on the rights and freedoms we thought we had in this country -- one only has to look at his behavior and expressions during his public appearances to discern the utter contempt and hatred he has for the laws of this land -- not to mention his over 750 signing statements declaring he is above the Constitution, above the law.

I shudder to think of what would have taken place had his rubber-stamp Republican congress of hooligans, ne'er-do-wells and racists been voted back into control of the Senate and House. Any doubt as to whether Bush despises the Constitution would have been quickly removed, as "his boys" would have issued further blank checks for him to re-make the Constitution over into his own craven image.

I give Bush no benefit of the doubt.

3. Nobody cares
in Washington about us. If they did, they wouldn't have senseless debates about increasing minimum wage and they would have begun the impeachment process the day the new Congress took office.

We'll have to do it ourselves. The system has been totally corrupted and is now FUBAR. Even with the country against Bush, nothing will happen. Everyone is too focused on the 2008 bullshit to care. Frankly, if the new President pardons this regime, I'm done with it.

Once the kids are through High School, it may be an excellent time to immigrate.

I don't recognize my beloved country NOW.

When "the button" is pressed, there's no such thing as *reset.*

10. After 40 Years - Mother Moved Back to Canada
After meeting my father many years ago my retired mother decided to move back to Canada where she was born and where her family is. They have free health care and she loves it. She never became a citizen but a legal immigrant (which is kinda weird...normally don't think of my mother as an immigrant). From what she tells me the United States is not very respected anymore in Canada.

5. I like the tone of your post, Mayflower
--- And NO, this is no time to make nice. This is a time for maximum sentences allowed by law. Every politician in Washington, and every corporate fatcat that's been bribing them and supporting them... ought to be scared absolutely fucking shitless at the wrath of the people,...

6. I am afraid that we won't join together to fight back until they start....
...killing us in the streets. If things continue the way they are going there is bound to be another war in this country. That is what Big Brother is expecting, and it is why they awarded KBR a 500 million dollar contract recently to build detention camps within this country. Things are getting very seriously fucked up and many of us are in denial about it, and trying to hang onto the country we used to know for as long as we can. Things will continue to go down the tubes unless we all start waking up and banding together by the millions. Patriots need to show the same strength as the undocumented Mexican nationals living here did during their demonstrations. We could learn from them and follow their lead in that regard.

I'm desperate for a change of tone, direction, and for patriotism to be redifined for what it truly is - not waving the flag to support our troops in the face of an illegal war. We should be cutting funding, bringing the troops home and the generals should be making arrests in Washington of the treasonous elements hijacking an entire nation.

11. If we had a grass roots populist leader, we might prevail...
But it'll take someone dynamic and powerful to motivate people to take time away from their daily struggle to fight to win back their rights. We need an honest broker, someone who works for the people and the planet. Ron Paul is the best candidate today in that regard. Gore also fits the bill, but will he run? If the Supreme Court hadn't undermined him, we wouldn't be in the absolute mess we're in today, at the dangerous precipice of extinction.

7. The fault lies squarely in Congress and in the American people
Congress gave Bush dictatorial powers and the American people pissed away their hard-won freedoms. As in the film "V," when it comes to finger pointing, we need to look no further than our own reflection in the mirror.

Why isn't Congress taking steps to impeach Bush and Cheney? Where is the public outrage about Bush escalation of the war in Iraq and his rush to a new war in Iran?

The Left and moderates of conscience cannot defeat the Bush regime by themselves. We are going to need the people that have been sitting on the sidelines.

12. What you say is both true and tragic...
Congress voluntarily reliquished our rights without even bothering to read the bills. Only Russ Feingold showed the requisite sanity. Now we live in a police state, with Big Brother even taking away our vote, our property and our first amendment freedom of speech. We are responsible because we don't storm the capital by the millions to demand an end to the tyranny. We could even band together as citizens and throw general strikes in our cities, where we suspend working and spending money for a day, which would deprive our criminal government of millions. If we hit them in the pocketbook, they'd get the message. But the public doesn't seem ready, willing or able to confront the Criminal Cartel that has hijacked our lawless government. I guess citiznes need to go jobless, hungry and homeless by the millions before they act and instigate a second American Revolution. That'll be rough, but inevitable. Because Big Brother will continue to strip us of everything until we have nothing left to lose but our lives. Then the revolution will begin and many will have to sacrifice their lives all over again for freedom. It won't be pretty and I'm NOT looking forward to it -- and in the end Big Brother may still win because we let it go too far and let them get too powerful. They are building detention camps already to incarcerate the patriots in. What we need today is another Jefferson, or Washington, or even Betsy Ross. Something's gotta give.

8. Yes, America Has Been Hijacked ... But Not All Americans
Yes, in many ways this may be our Darkest Hour. The time in which even those who carry the consent of the governed have begun their use of it under the masturbatory madness that equates activity with substantive action.

But it may also be true that our Finest Hour has already begun. The justified rage that has built up against our oppressors is slowly turning against those who refuse to act to release us (and the world) from the oppressors' grip.

Real Americans have little patience for resultless posturing. The "new bosses" will be made to feel the lack of satifaction that comes with their non-binding gestures and their circular back patting.

Thousands of those Real Americans will march today. Millions will be "there in spirit."

Many of the signs they carry will say "Impeach."

Many know that Only Impeachment can bring any Real Result.

Americans can restore America.
