Poor Poppy Bush. The media is pickin' on Jr.!

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush's father accused the news media of "personal animosity" toward his son and said he found the criticism so unrelenting he sometimes talked back to his television set.

"It's one thing to have an adversarial ... relationship -- hard-hitting journalism -- it's another when the journalists' rhetoric goes beyond skepticism and goes over the line into overt, unrelenting hostility and personal animosity," former President George Bush said.

1. I talk back to my television set, too
But usually when his baby boy is talking.

Whiners, all of them!

2. When they dig so deep that they uncover a blue stained dress, then
I'll have some sympathy for the Great Weeper. Until then, stiff upper lip, old man. So sick of this entitled family crying for sympathy all the time.

3. Reminds me of that line from "Animal House": Hey, they can't do that
to our pledges. Only we can do that to our pledges.

Poppy will just have to take a ticket and get at the back of the line. And IMO, the media isn't showing 90% of what's wrong with Junior.

4. Just more of the campaign to suppress public opinion and
opposition to Dubya's personal war. Got an email this week from a rightwing friend saying the same old tired fantasy.

5. A little parental control might help!
No matter how old I am, my parents would be upset with me if I declared war needlessly.

8. Sheesh! The media is just waking up.
After blindly following along with the war and terra! terra! terra! crap from the misadministration for 5+ years, I think the media is just starting to realize they've been duped. Poor Tony Snowjob. He thinks David Gregory is bad? Just wait 'til the rest of them find their voices.

10. Amazing, isn't it, that he didn't seem to have a problem w/ this during the Clinton era
When the "peronsal animosity" towards Clinton was demonstrated on a daily basis. And still is.

I've never heard any journalist or talking head call George W. Bush "white trash" (like Coulter called Clinton and was suspended from MSNBC for it). In one of her comlumns this week, she referred to Hillary Clinton as the "horny hick's wife."

I've never heard anyone on radio call Jenna or Barbara the new "White House dog" (like Rush Limballs did Chelsea).

I've never heard anyone say the only reason Laura Bush survived her bout with skin cancer was because "hell was full" (That's the explanation Michael Savage gave for why Bill Clinton survived quadruple bypass).

So it seems to me that dear old Poppy really has no grounds for his complaints.

13. If he is that upset with the media persecuting his boy then
what would he do with a letter writing campaign aimed at ridiculing him? Would he go psycho if he received bags of letters dizzin his boy?

15. You should have disciplined the little terrorist when he was blow-
ing up innocent frogs. You should not have bailed him out time and again. You set up the world for this worthless piece of manure. You and Barb are culpable, pal.
